This changes my perspective on the likely outcome of this. Bruises = pictures. Bite marks = pictures. 5s of choking hard enough to cut off breathing would likely leave marks that can be photographed.

He's probably done.

In all seriousness, there was never any doubt that he would be suspended. Even the Houston Chronicle was reporting early that the asst coach would coach this next game, and given the charges there was zero chance Beard would be anywhere near the sideline before the university’s own investigation along with the criminal process.

not sure if its been stated already... but can someone with insider info elaborate on what the skeletons in Beards closet were and why we didn't go after him? Same issue, or something else? ... Like what info was available a few years ago? Also looks like I have to change my profile pic

Purdue: 10  -  6.19 = +3.81

Indiana 8 - 6.99 = +1.01

Ohio State 7 - 6.06 = +0.94

Illinois 7 - 6.06 = +0.94

Penn St 7 - 6.48 = +0.52

Northwester 7 - 6.51 = +0.49

Iowa 7 - 6.6 = +0.40

Michigan 6 - 6.06 = -0.06

A clause in the contract allows the university to terminate or suspend Beard with cause for "Any conduct (a) that the University administration reasonably determines is clearly unbecoming to a Head Coach and reflects poorly on the University, the Program, or The University of Texas System; or (b) resulting in a criminal charge being brought against Head Coach involving a felony, or any crime involving theft, dishonesty, or moral turpitude."

It is a standard clause in UT coaching contracts.

It was alluded to in a couple earlier posts and it was something that I had heard rumors of -- but internet rumors are just rumors.  I had heard indications that were problems with alcohol and in particular how he acted when he was drinking.
