Zion needs to drop weight. At least 20 pounds. 285 pounds at 18 can easily turn into 300+ as he enters his 20s if he's not careful. Even though it's 285 pounds of muscle that's not good on your body, especially with the way he plays.

This. If he dropped to about 245 of lean muscle ok. But I can’t see any gm taking 6’6” 285 in top 5 in spite of elite athleticism. That is just a decision to say fire me. A lot of people in the NBA have elite athleticism. I truly feel if he was 2 or 3 inches taller he could get picked up there. He would still have to lose weight but that is doable.

I think he will go lottery even with an average type year. Won’t go 1 but if he proves he can shoot it at a great clip, he could go top 3.

He had 1 hot game against a Canadian university. He’ll get tested plenty this year to find out.

Zion = Charles Barkley part deux?

Chuck was “listed” at 252. Zion is listed at 285. I am sure both are generous. Chuck was known to balloon up over the summer too. If Zion can get down to 250 or under he can have a decent career I think. Chuck being the obvious comparison. I hope he does. Chuck was fun as hell to watch but he could shoot. Zion has to get better there which he can. Chuck has nothing on Zion’s athleticism. That is just freakish.

I was hoping they were going to do the 2015 class to see where OG would of landed but he does get mentioned

Great article, really interesting look on what it takes to make it in the NBA. Great example with Nigel Williams-Goss as a guy who is probably a better pure basketball than maybe 10% of the NBA, if not more, but the issue isn’t talent, it’s role. There’s no role for him on a team.

The article doesn’t mention him, but Jimmer Ferdette recently talked about not making it in the NBA. Fredette is certainly an extremely talented basketball player. He’s probably better than say Yogi, but Yogi has learned/can play off the ball in an offense. Jimmer couldn’t adjust to playing off the ball, and while he’s a heck of an offensive player with the ball in his hands, you’re not handing your offense to him, so he’s not in the league.

All of the guys mentioned above (Williams-Goss, Fredette, Yogi, and more) are probably way more talented than Andre Roberson. The difference is Roberson has prototypical NBA wing size and is perfectly happy playing defense and rebounding, and hardly ever shooting, so he’s a starter on a play-off team and two of the three guys mentioned above aren’t even in the league.

Really interesting stuff IMO.

So Happ and Edwards were named first team Americans recently I guess where in the world is the love for Morgan. Had the highest PER in the conference last for Christ’s sake. He had the 4th highest eFG% and the highest returning.
Frankly Morgan objectively outplayed them both last year. Where’s the love

Edwards will get a lot of hype because he took a bunch of shots on a good team. Like last season, he'll win AND LOSE them games based on if he's making because he won't stop shooting.

If IU plays well as a team and Morgan repeats what he did last season he'll get plenty of talk.

Duke goes 3-0 on Canadian tour and best McGill by about 50 today.

Williamson goes for 36/14/4/3 and Barrett goes for 20/10.

These two were unstoppable in Canada, let’s hope stateside Indiana can slow them down a bit.

Maybe we can update the "Moye Blocks Boozer" to "McRoberts Blocks Williamson"?

True I get Edwards getting the hype because he was on a good team that choked in the tourney. But what about Happ?

Hopefully Archie can shut down Edwards like he did last year. Love to sweep that series.

I guess these two guys did lead the conference in usage rate. Guess Morgan could have been more of a ball hog
