WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 i agree I dislike the program and coach but as a college basketball nut couldnt hate a kid like ulis or even towns. Those 2 kids in my opinion play their butts off anytime they were on the court. You know if cal would of gotten mudiey a couple years ago ulis would of been a spartanloved Towns. Special player. And Anthony Davis. Just hate they likely came with bags of cash. Otherwise seem like good guys and fantastic basketball players. MadAboutIndiana 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 m It's easy to say that after the fact. I bet you were all about the movement.... Mistakes happen to every single coach. It sucks. But a couple guys don't pan out, one guy gets homesick, and there you have it when you are not recruiting the same players as the powers. It takes time. Look at Costello. Msu can afford to wait til his senior year for him to be good.fair. Just saying, that stretch killed our momentum. We had to "reset" again. Can't blame IU or the administration on that. We could be on top if the movement class was legit. LIHoosier 1 Quote

What ya gonna do ya know? Did all they could It's impressive to me that Crean survived those years and built the roster we have going forward Still need better, bigger, pro guards. Can't win titles without em Quote

bleedhoosier Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Crean was forced to take huge classes which caused a second reset after the 2013 Big Ten title. Had to start over again. As Izzo said, "how do you recruit to that??!" So yes, I do think there are still ripple effects being felt from the Sampson travesty. If you can recruit with the big boys, you can turn it around quickly. Iu was not and is not in a position to do that after a generation of irrelevancy I can see some ripples like u said but I think Crean caused that himself by constantly over recruiting and moving onto "the next shiny project" There is no reason guys like Remy Abell or Malik Story or Nick Williams shouldn't off had the program built around them. I do think the Maurice creek injury had more lingering effects than just for Maurice himself. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Quote

TheWatShot Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 As much as I'd love to see MSU run Purdue out of the building in the second half, I think Purdue is going to fight back and maybe take the lead at some point. Quote

Didn't really make a huge difference IMO. Remy was kicked off the team, essentially. He got a lot of chances from Crean. Again, the over recruiting thing... I think Crean gets constantly misread on that. It's not like he wants the turnover. Creek definitely impacted win totals early on Quote

(which refreshingly not an issue this year). Story and Williams, however, were not run out. On the other side of the coin the "movement" really hurt. Many across the country thought it was a great class filled with Indiana kids but it only led to one decent (great) player. This may be the best top to bottom "team" he has put together. Pre-season I thought we would be in a world of hurt any game in which TB got into foul trouble but the depth provided by MB, OG and JM has been a great surprise. Got to give credit where credit is due. MadAboutIndiana 1 Quote
