the rest of the BIG had a good night. Penn State in a battle with Duquesne.

Maybe last year was an aberration for Nebraska. 1 great player, 1 really good one in Shields, and lots of average pieces otherwise.

As apathetic as I've become toward IU basketball, if we lose to Nebraska when they couldn't even beat Incarnate Word at home….I might get genuinely pissed off again.

i hear ya. I fear even watching that Georgetown matchup and they aren't even a great team.

I think we go 1-1 against Butler and Georgetown.  Need a better than decent win in our OOC to make the tourney.

 

After seeing several of these B1G teams we could actually surprise the B1G IF we play a little defense, BLOCK OUT, and get the turnovers back down.

The BIG is doable but we are a coin flip with Minnesota, Illinois, Nebraska, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, Michigan State. Problem is coaching wins those coin flip games. Does that boost your confidence?

Effort and team ball goes a long ways too.  I would add shooting, with this team, as well.  We shall find out.

I'll ignore your Crean jab and look at the first sentence. After watching us and watching 5 of the 7 listed, I would be disappointed if we dropped any of those at home, minus NU who we only play in Lincoln. On the road, I think we can take 3 of the 5, we don't play at Minnesota or Michigan unless I missed them on my calendar. There's 9. Take care of business against the bottom feeders and that alone is 12-14ish B1G wins.

That, of course, is the optimist in me talking.
