Josh Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Hoover didn't play well. But it was good enough to win. Kicking game didn't play well, and it likely cost us the win. Defense played really well. Dumb penalties need to be eliminated RaceToTheTop, pumpfake, skhoosier2 and 1 other 4 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Two touchdowns IU gave up -- one Ohio State had five cracks from the two yard to score. Second was a lucky balloon ball that Smith pulled down. skhoosier2 1 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted October 17 Posted October 17 BTW, when IU beat Ohio State last year we only scored 13 points. Their defense makes a lot a teams look bad. Quote

Teams that shouldn't be in the playoffs get their @$$ drug in games against teams like Ohio State. I mean for crissakes, Ole Miss is ranked 9th with their only 'impressive' win being a home squeaker against LSU and a complete drubbing by a mediocre Florida team. Agree. We’ve got issues, but aside from around four teams, everyone else does too. Can we fix them? I don’t know. But there is a chance. Quote
Golfman25 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 A lot to digest after this heartbreaking loss. One, we do have talent, but it ain't Cig talent. We lost a lot of the disciplined leadership from last year who had been with Cig since JMU. Lesser hyped guys like Sarrat, Cooper, Fischer, etc. Guys like Marsh are uber talented, but then fail to focus on the little details that matter in this game (just maybe he could have kept his foot down, but it didn't appear he tried or was aware, or not spiking the ball, etc.). Jones hitting a sliding QB, etc. That chit is completely anti-Cig. Second, Hoover hasn't taken the step we needed him to take. Way too many misses and in a game against top teams, the misses are what kill you. He's a tough kid, seems likable, but just hasn't improved his accuracy or his reads Granted, it's difficult to come behind a legend like Fernando -- we were spoiled last year). Run game. A few posters complained about the run game above. We seem to have a stubbornness about trying to run it between the tackles. That doesn't work against teams with big fatties up front and load up the box to take it away. Runs outside the tackles seemed to be looser, but we don't do that consistently. The last two weeks, we were forced to get away from the run in the 4th qtr. and the offense moved the ball and scored (a foot OB notwithstanding). We need to change that earlier -- throw to run the ball. All in all a heartbreaker that could have, should have, been won. We now have to regroup and finish the season strong. BBTB Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Well now our home winning streak is gone and the OSU fans cannot stop saying it . I have no idea how come they are really not good this year I mean even the first year seemed better . I am not happy that they could not protect the home field I would totally understand if we were at OSU but we were home . Why were the refs so one sided calling nit picks on us but not them when it was so obvious ? Some people must be okay with it but I am not wearing any of my Indiana stuff for awhile no need to advertise bad games especially now . I don't know why they are not the team that all summer claimed oh he is the best QB I am not sold on it . Certain Colts QB had one good year and he is terrible this year and being out of state I don't get many games to watch them anyway .I gave up on hoping the Colts would win since Luck left us .QB do matter and even Rourke seemed better with a bad leg . But even that missed FG was the result of Hoover missing a guy in the end zone Quote
