What I have learned from the FISA basketball exhibition games about the Indiana team:

IU should be able to easily beat any NCAA Division II or Division I teams (rated below 325 on KenPom) *if we stay healthy.

Burton and Sherell are going to be fun and productive this season.*

Watch Karvala pull a rabbit out of a hat.  The freshmen are full of potential.

IU needs eligible bigs in uniform.

There are still lots and lots of unknowns...like defensive efficiency and etc.  Until we see IU play some good teams, there will be unknowns.  

Offensively, we have better weapons that last year...they can shoot and move against little competition.

Coach is beginning to talk to the refs!  Whoa!

Getting to see IU basketball mid-summer is a treat. We have moved the unknown team into the ahhh column.

If there are minimal locker-room issues, no early morning visits to Taco Bell, no car chases, or no missing starters...then we will dance.

I get it that the level of competition is definitely weak, but our team was sent to these games to represent the U.S. and it wasn't us that scheduled the games and determined who we were going to play.

1) It’d be awesome if for once we got the 4* frosh who is a diamond in the rough difference maker  

2) Is Sherrell gonna be that dude and play hard all year to match his physical talent.

Karvala’s points were mainly in fourth quarter garbage time for this game. He has looked great all week, but his points are a little deceiving this time.

Not to be a party pooper, but... It's my understanding that last year's and this years FISU men's basketball events aren't comparable with this year's being a more regional event for the Americas versus last year's being a world event. The world event is every two years on odd years and countries like Brazil get more sponsoring and actually can afford to bring national teams with the best from the country. For the America games, there are less sponsors so teams like Brazil are merely represented by a single university due to lacking the funds to coordinate travel and practices for a national team. So, I think the talent is significantly less this year compared to what Baylor faced last year. Unfortunately.

Well damn, I just put a large sum on IU to go undefeated and win the National Championship game by  >46  on Polymarket. No wonder I got such a good price.

Championship game today at 4:00 ET vs. Not-So-Virgin Islands.

I've been to St. Croix three times, St. Thomas and St. John    Never saw a basketball hoop or game being played.  Admittedly, I did not do the total cultural immersion thing.  Sampled multiple beaches, hiked, explored, got on and in the waters, checked out the local products.  Totals 4 weeks in the USVI.

Overall, trips like this have to be very positive.  I do like hearing that the players are giving full effort.  

Not sure about that.  I was watching Sherell. Is what he was doing full effort?

The only serious benefit of a trip like this is team chemistry and possibly a little recruiting bump for being a team selected for international/Hawaii type trips/vacations. Though with NIL that is likely a lesser concern of recruits.

Doubling or tripling up a team adds no real skills value, and may even short term reinforce bad habits that players seemingly can get away with vs sub La Lumiere prep school competition. 

All said it's better than just banging heads against the same guys for another week, but more for the incidental tangential benefits than anything skills wise.
