Sherrell 30

Samet 30

Sisley 15

Harris 26

Lindsay 26

Burton 32

Mustaf 26

15 mins left.... 5 mins at the 4/5, 10 mins at the 1-3. We have very little left to sell in terms of minutes, realistically speaking.

And that's with knowing nothing about Moody, Karvala.

Might be asking a bit outta the two bigs, I think Trent and Mustaf will pretty similar. Jmo

Moody 8

Book it!!

I think this is pretty close to how it plays out.

Would love to go find this season's version of Sam Alexis for that backup big spot. Also wish we had a freshman big for emergency depth purposes, but that ship has sailed.

Imo add Mustaf and Sisley and divide by 2

I don't think those two are really in competition. I'm a fan of Sisley, but he couldn't even beat out Jasai Miles for wing minutes at the end of the season. He's a 4.

There are plenty of minutes available at the 4 though, as Sherrell should be the primary "backup" at 5. Trent could feasibly get 20 mpg there if he's improved.

This roster is very good, but if we want to be in the NC conversation then I think we still need to spend some decent money on these next two players and think about rotations that keep every one fresh and hopefully injury free.

Balanced with high efficiency outside shooting—

Based on Rabjohns, this is certainly not the path they are taking. Will have to wait to see if they reconsider. Rabby says a backup Big and 2 practice players.   I’m hoping we at least grab a high potential player and luck into something. Knowing how Yigi fouls im curious what level we aim for our Big.  I guess they want to get Sisley minutes at the backup 4. And slide Sherrell to the 5.

I think Trent and Mustaf are the 4 as it stands in a 4 out offense, which I still think we'll get plenty of. I don't think we're done yet in that area roster wise though. Wishful thinking maybe. We have so many wings that can play right now and not a lot separates them. Mustaf is more suited for that than Trent I believe.

I wish we had a killer that could knock down 40% from 3 in high volume as a 3/4.

Im hoping DD has it worked out and Yigi Sherrell can play together effectively 20+ minutes, no examples in his career  of that.

I just don’t want to see also those bigs gassed and play to many minutes. And like you say, foul trouble can deplete us fast.

We are not going to be in NC conversations.

On an expedited timeline—like the one May took—maybe next year. We wasted last year and started over this year. If you want to be optimistic think of this as UMay Yr 1. Contend for a B1G title, win the BTT, and make the S16 and everyone will be over the moon.

100% agree.

Making the tournament without being on the bubble and getting a ~top 6 seed would be a successful year IMO. We are not sniffing a national title next year. Should be contending in the B1G.

As you said, in the optimistic case, maybe the year after next because we will finally have a foundation on the roster and after manageable attrition we can hit the portal hard for highest end talent available to fill needs.

Goal should be to see what this team is made of.  Retain everybody capable of a NC run then add any missing pieces next year.  Or if the guys just need development who knows

To me Im interested in who our dog, and or leader will be. This team hasn’t had a player to rally the troops to help keep them in a game, much less win a tough one.

This is along the lines of what I'm thinking.

It's been stated that they want to build primarily through recruiting and use transfers as a supplemental path.  Perhaps the thought is to spend big to build a good, albeit incomplete, foundation that they can then give PT to freshmen and Sisley.  Probably with the goal of top 5 in the B10, comfortably in the tournament, and a good chance to win a game or 3.  I like this strategy (if it IS what the vision is), but it necessitates a successful recruiting class of '27 kids.

I doubt the intention is to spend like drunken sailors every season.

One thing I’m hoping for is Samet benefits from the prison ball nature of the B1G.  He beats the hell out of teams, doesn’t get called for many fouls, and the opposition cries about it.  That would be a nice change.

If it doesn't, just put a big "Edey" patch on the back of his jersey to confuse the zebras. lol

Dittos.  And in my view this is only way to win big, we can't be rebuilding every year.  I don't think our roster budget can go any higher than it now without some serious results.  Though i was surprised at how much we just spent, so what do I know?

The $20M for the roster this year was a shot in the arm or a big blast of lighter fluid to get this going.  If we can have a good year and develop and retain players, that means we're in the portal after next season needing only a few guys.  And we can sell stepping into a winning team, which would probably open up the universe of players we can get.  Then we can potentially start dreaming big.

But, we have a long way to go.  CDD has a lot of work to do getting this brand new team to gel.  Some of these guys got big paydays -- as Marvin Hagler said: “It's tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5am when you've been sleeping in silk pajamas."

I don't want to see anyone out of shape, or being pouty, or talk of players not going what the coach wants.

I think CDD can do this, but it's not easy.  We'll see.
