Scheyer with back to back all-time tourney chokes. Seat might be getting hot…lol

Given Duke’s resources and name the answer here is probably a loooonnnnggg time, but it’ll be interesting to see how many more years of Scheyer not getting it done late it’ll take before the elite kids start to say hmmm and not just reflexively commit there. Then what happens? As long as K’s alive he has total job security, but he could go to the NBA.

One of my strongest CBB opinions is Duke fans will be sweating when the Bulls job opens.

Coach K took a few late tournament losses before he got over the hump.

Duke didn’t even need to get the ball past half court. What an epic choke.

How sweet was it that it was another Boozer choke? Incredibly entertaining stuff.

Could make a lot of sense.  But he’s got the cushiest of jobs at Duke with their connections and ties.  Plus he’s winning at historic levels without getting the big one, but on pace to crush records.

They have a great class coming in, of course, but it’s not as ready to go from a maturity standpoint as the last couple. If they have another sweet sixteen kind of year next year they may not sweat it all that bad.

Absolutely true, but the expectations game was very different 30 years ago and he’s had the talent to plausibly win a Natty every year he’s had the job.

UConn beat Illinois by 13 when they played earlier in the year but that doesn't matter so much in March. I could definitely see Illinois winning but can't bet against UConn in that one. They lost a close game to Arizona earlier in the year without Reed or Mullins. Just a crazy run they've had the past 4 years.
