Can we extend our current winning streak to 4 games?  Maryland (7-7) (0-3) is just 4-3 at home and if we're going to win a road game or 2 this season, this has to be one of those games.  They average 75 ppg with a -3 margin.  Not a strong shooting team at 40% FG and 33% on 3s.  They rebound as many as their opponents per game so no particular strength on the boards.  4 players average in double figures led by Pharrel Payne at 17.5.  David Coit is a 43% 3-point shooter and their second leading scorer at 13.3.  Solomon Washington averages 9 rpg followed by Payne at 7.2.  Former IU player Myles Rice is averaging 7.9 ppg on 39% FG and 38% on 3s.  He has recorded 1 more turnover than he has in assists averaging 18 min./gm.

Really hoping for a win in this one.

After this game, we play: vs. #13 Nebraska, @ #9 MSU, vs. #25 Iowa, @ #2 Michigan, then @ Rutgers.

I'll be happy if we win this one, Rutgers, and steal one of the other 4 (most likely Nebraska or Iowa)

Agree but I'm setting the goal slightly higher.

- Take care of business at Maryland and Rutgers

- Take two of three at home vs Nebraska, Iowa, Purdue

- We probably get smoked at Michigan, but have a slight puncher's chance at MSU.

If we are sitting at 6-4 after Purdue we're in great shape. 5-5 isn't a disaster either.

I think that would be great for where we are right now!

Personally, IMO MSU seems more likely to get ugly for us than be a close one.

Think our best chance at home is by far Iowa... Kinda have to have that one.

Don't feel good about Nebraska or PU... but I'd love some Assembly Hall magic this season.

Or a night against one of these teams where a few guys are really hot shooting like they can't miss.

Purdue would be a good game for that :)

Maryland is rated #130 by the NET, IU #30.

Just read this on one of the Maryland fan forums: "Can they keep it below the -45 point differential the football team lost to Indiana by? That'd be a small victory."

IU has struggled on the road.  Don't get cocky.

Maryland is 160 in the NET.  Maryland was up 9 on Michigan at half so they are capable of beating anyone

One on Payne....when he has played, Maryland has still not fared well -- 1 and 5 against power 5 teams with the only win being against Marquette by 7.  Lost to Michigan by 18 (to be fair, most of that deficit was after he left due to injury), lost to Iowa by 19, lost to Alabama by 33, lost to Gonzaga by 39, and lost to Georgetown by 10.

He has gotten to the line a lot -- almost 10 times per game -- and with our lack of depth at the 5, IU is going to have a battle to stay out of foul trouble.

Payne’s done for the year, right?
