Awful effort.  I’ve vented enough about this throwaway.  Was supposed to be a get right game, but it was more of a get wrong effort.

Merry Christmas IUBB.

Maybe Santa will deliver us a 5 man that can defend and rebound and some confidence and swagger to our shooters because we will need them.

New style of play is excellent.

Gotta have a rim protector to pull it off.

ps: I’m no incurable optimist; had IU by 22 in the prediction pool.

Call it like you see it. New play style is different. And better. But not excellent until played excellently, which we don’t do. We aren’t good. And that’s sad.  My expectations are always too high.  Would just enjoy a good roster and team one of these years.

Agreed. Style is one thing, but execution is key.

I remember reading "Season on the Brink" where the team had a game at Northwestern, and got lazy in the 2nd half with a big lead. Knight took a timeout and ripped them for only winning the second half by one point, and demanded they be better the rest of the game. Sure wish we could ever see that kind of energy and accountability in this program again.

Exactly

Style is good. Executing is a tough ask with no serviceable bigs on the roster.

Yeah, what’s going on in CDD’s head?

He didn’t know this roster build was inadequate. Does he know this effort and execution is inadequate too?  Who knows.

Maybe fragile egos on the team he can’t lay into them.  Idk. Hoping the work through without being the mean coach.

L’s will start piling up soon.

Just like every coaching staff. They build the roster. They take the accountability.  Inadequate roster construction leading to inadequate results. Now what do we do with that?  Falls on coach.

Hoping he and staff learn A LOT this inaugural season.  Praying we can learn while sneaking into the tournament.  Gotta have it.

Please tell me that the recent hiccups our beloved btb was having today migrated into the Live Stat site.  I decided an afternoon nap would be more enjoyable than following the second half.  Per Live Stats, the final score was 78-58 which clearly means that site is totally unreliable and therefore I'm not posting any screen shots of the box scores.    dws

I really don't like that the college game is just mirroring the NBA game where they rely way to much on shooting 3's. To me the use of advanced metrics is really hurting the game of basketball. To me it has taken the beauty out of the game and it is a 3 or a shot at the rim. It has taken half the court out and it makes it easier to guard.

To me it is ridiculous to shoot 46 3's in a game and only shoot 16 from two point range.

In the last week I watched the 81 final four games vs LSU and UNC plus the championship game from 76. Today's game doesn't even look lke the same game as those games. You saw ball movement plus player movement and didn't see anyone just standing on offense waiting for someone to kick ball out to you.

Pretty Woodson-ey of you, no?

FWIW, if we had anyone that could score near the rim our numbers wouldn’t be so skewed. But it looks like we don’t.

Packers/Bears is probably gonna take precedent over James Madison/Oregon.

I forgot that was on today!  Will definitely be watching that too. Thanks for the reminder!
