I think there will be a competition and Alberto would most likely stick around if he loses, since he'd have 2 years of eligibility still remaining. I just think the history with Cig runs too deep for him to portal out unless he doesn't start the year after next either. Which I doubt. JMO

That was my thought/hope. I guess time will tell.

Don’t know if IU gets in here but with Cig’s obsession with productivity, Jesus,  it doesn’t get much more productive than that.

Would fit the misfit mentality of getting great players from flawed teams

Didn't take long.

On3:  Ohio State QB Lincoln Kienholz plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Mason Maggs (O$U QB):  I have decided to enter the transfer portal on January 2nd, with the expectation of having 2 years of eligibility remaining pending approval of a medical redshirt.

The portal is "officially" open.  I'm sure no contact has occurred with any players or schools until this morning.

Per Matt Zenitz: "In the first seven hours of the transfer portal window being open, there have already been 1,101 FBS scholarship players that have entered the portal."

Just mind blowing on the number of kids in the portal already.

Assuming we grab a QB, and are rumored for Hoover, is he the best?  Ton of production but seems to struggle in big games. Lines fault or his, I have no idea but got me wondering who would be the best fit if we could choose

Not the best by ratings but he’s up there.

I think I’ll trust this staffs talent evaluation over any sort of transfer rankings at this point though.

Apparently Cig/Shanny/Whitmer think he is the right choice. So congrats to Josh Hoover because after one year at IU he will be the best.
