Tayton Conerway to Indiana!!!!

Recommended Posts

Conerway is a bully guard. One of those Houston/Baylor types.

For those of you that are concerned that we are bringing in a bunch of shooters that aren't defensive minded? That's fair - but Conerway is kinda the opposite. A physical bully on both ends who the opposition will concede outside shots to. Unless something is completely altered, his outside shooting is not great.

The B1G player-season most comparable to Conerway’s 2025? Tyson Walker’s 2024, per Torvik.

How the heck can that be? Tyson Walker was a perimeter shot-maker and small; Conerway is a physical guard who scores much more efficiently at the rim.

I was surprised too. As far as I can tell they were similar defensive playmakers, had a similar offensive rating despite getting there much differently, and both assist% and TO% were close.

Before I knew IU was recruiting him, I admired his PER, BPM and assist/steal % as something that any team could use.

Conerway is an absolute team player, and will understand his role. I will not be surprised if he significantly outplays his transfer “ranking” and is the kind of player where people nationally wonder he came from.

Amazing pick up.
