Been reading some WVU fan sites.  Lots of comments about the coaching turnover at WVU.  Lots of sour grapes.  Some question CDD's son's injury.  Obviously more reaction about losing a good coach and hurting as fans.

Here are a couple of partial posts from sites: "...to me this season was remarkable. I worry about the next hire because Devries was bringing in quality of recruits we haven't seen in awhile...";   "...DD struck gold with Javon… this year would have looked very different without him...";   ",,,Tucker DeVries shoulder surgery was a diagnostic shoulder arthroscopy btw. Nothing was fixed. ";

Hurley is the best coach in the country. That's probably an insurmountable obstacle for nearly any coach.

I'll agree with the fact Mullins would be a difficult flip.

I'll agree the 2-time champs label is a really good look and indicative of very good coaching.

I'll agree that Hurley is the recent most successful coach. 

He's not the best coach in the country.

Dittos.  It's college sports -- as we know it's a nasty zero sum game with effectively no rules when it comes to coaches and players.

I'm also not going to feel bad if we take a bunch of their staff/players/recruits.  This is the game.

Same here...if he can win right away he will become what we wanted it all the other candidates mentioned. Then we lock him up like the other schools have locked their guy up from leaving. He's young and from the Midwest. If he's super excited to be here, we should give him a chance to get it right.

......I have been frustrated since the announcement, but after sleeping on it, reading up on him a little more, I'm realizing that he has the potential to be an outstanding coach here at IU. 

I honestly think Dolson sees a lot of the same qualities of Coach Cignetti as he does in Coach DeVries. He saw the rapid success Coach Cignetti promised and produced. I think DeVries carries his "lunch pail" the same way.

Same. And if so, Scott was willing to play the game and that makes me feel even more confident in him going forward.

Also, what guidelines or missteps actually constitute tampering? It's not like it was a secret Woodson was out of he continued to fail. DeVries can just say he'd been monitoring the situation on his own. Oh well, like you said: don't care. We have ourselves a ball coach.

But I had to chuckle at Goodman visiting his daughter at IU and meeting with Dolson while he's there -- and offering advice on whom to hire. Because, you know, that's a journalist's job. 

Dolson, back in February: "Before I get too far into this search and start reaching out to candidates, I need to hear what Goodman thinks ..."  

They really question his personality.  Goodman seems to think it's a solid hire but Hansborough and that other guy really don't.  I can't stand Hansborough.  Must be pissed that we've whacked his Tar Holes so many times inside AH.

Also as it pertains to Javon Small , he posted a lot of crying laughing face emojis on this social media right as the news was announced that DD was hired by IU . Doesn’t seem to be a fan of the decision. Maybe if he takes some time let’s it sink in and realize the bigger check he would get he will want to head home to the Hoosier state
