The only other program that I can think of in the last couple years to hire a sitting Power 5 coach was Arkansas because the fanbase of Kentucky was running him out.

Uh….Kentucky?

Can’t really have it both ways where UK settled and IU didn’t, because each guy was essentially a midmajor coach with one year of P5 experience. Popes was arguably a better year.

This is why I’m 100% on board now. All year I have commented/complained to other fans that IU was just a collection of high prices players. They were not a team and the pieces didn’t fit together to make a team.

At least it's not Bruce Weber's fist speech.

Yeah... I know that she's not popular, but IU has shown that the President is able to undermine the basketball program (Brand & Herbert). She has not shown herself to be anything like that. I won't be raising any voice against her.

Why’s she not popular? I’m in no way “in the loop” but I always assumed she was fairly well liked, only listening in from the athletics side of things

ok guys...... He's winning the press conference......  That man is motivated to win.  I'm quickly warming up.  Getting pumped up to see what his recruiting chops will look like.

By all accounts he's a really solid recruiter. In his first year at WVU he had a top 25 incoming freshman class and brought in a top 3 transfer portal class last summer.
