The game itself is secondary to the backdrop stories.  Will Woody be on the sidelines or will the flu that is pretty widespread in the state force him to miss this game?  Well, it would be a halfway reasonable excuse for him to be a no-show.  How ugly will the crowd be at tipoff and how much uglier will it get if we proceed to lay another egg?  If Woody does coach, is he coaching against his successor?  Will Woody still be our coach on Saturday or will life support have been pulled?  Sadly, the answer to this last question looks like he will still be head coach.  Shaping up to be a memorable day in SSAH.

Michigan(16-5) (8-2) and 4-2 in away games is ranked in the top 25 under first year coach Dusty May as opposed to our 4th year coach.   Michigan averages 82 ppg with a +12 scoring margin and shoots 37% on 3s averaging almost 10 made 3s/gm.  They average 38 rpg with a +6 rebounding margin.  They have 5-players who average in double digits led by Vlad Goldin at 15.6 ppg.  Danny Wolf is their leading rebounder at 10/gm.  They have 3 players who average 40% or better on 3s.  And if we don't stick with Goldin he's hit 9-18 on the season.

Game strategy for this one:  I would imagine coach and staff are making time to talk to financial advisors, do some shopping, vacation planning for recovery and transition into next phase of life…. some licking of wounds, party celebrations for the status, prestige, and financial success.

How about on the way in? It will be like one of those wrestling heel turns where he rips off his suit to reveal a red sweater as he walks to the IU sideline to coach us the rest of the way.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Woodson and IU probably have an agreement to write up and sign the renegotiated exit contract.

Now comes the hard parts:

1.  Watching Woodson 'coach' the final games of his era.  Wondering if he will step away from even showing up during the games.  If he doesn't actively coach games from here on out then who?

2.  Dolson probably has a very short list of prospective winning coaches, feelers had been likely going out for a while through the hired consultants.

3.  Closing the contract with Brad Stevens or Plan B & etc.

4.  And most importantly, at the last second if Woody doesn't show pregame Saturday, should I change my prediction for the Michigan game from a loss to a win? /s

Fish's radio broadcast typically starts 1-hour prior to tipoff and it might we worth a listen today to hear what he says or doesn't say.  Somewhere in the hour there is also usually a pre-recorded segment with Woody previewing the current day's game.  Don't know how far in advance those are taped so who  knows if there will be one today or not,
