JerryYeagley23 Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 It’s not over, but will be tough to close this gap. We played them tough. Think we’ll look back on that Shay missed three when wide open to put us up 8 as a big turning point. Syd missing two free throws to cut it back to 4 was big too. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Damn -- we had chances. We coulda beat these guys. UCLA? I'm not so sure. Quote
RoadRage Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 They need Reggie Miller at this point..... FloridaHoosierGirl 1 Quote
reconmkd Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Wish Garzon hadn't been the one to launch those last few shots. She has been off today. Quote
TTT Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 3 ball strategy excellent try and nice strategy 8 for 28 and free throws 16 for 22. It was a very good game. Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 37% shooting wasn't going to get it done today. We held them to 39% and that kept us in it. The silver lining is that we probably aren't going to see anyone with that much talent again this year. FloridaHoosierGirl and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote
johnsoniu Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Played tough. Crucial stretch in middle of 4th just couldn’t get a shot to drop. Had opportunities. Dang it Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 And it doesn't matter now, but Watkins traveled on that shot to end the 3rd. JerryYeagley23 1 Quote
IUskim Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 The game was there for the taking. We just couldn’t hit the shots when we needed to. To be honest I didn’t think we’d be in the same zip code as USC. Proud of the ladies today. NatHillIV, LockdownD, Class of '66 Old Fart and 1 other 4 Quote
Artie86 Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 …..again turnovers 15, I believe, was a big part of the reason why we lost along with going 16 of 22 from free throws. Yes, Ju Ju will be Ju Ju, but we cut those down to 10 and we probably win or have a chance to win at the end… Quote
TTT Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 IU Ladies held their own on the boards sidenote: All things aside…I think Lilly Meister plays a little better coming off the bench than in a starting role. Not sure but she looks a little less pressured and more comfortable. NatHillIV and LockdownD 2 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 19, 2025 Author Posted January 19, 2025 Another big-time crowd for the Indiana women's basketball team at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall: 12,534 for IU vs. No. 4 USC. USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb on the #iuwbb crowd: "What an incredible atmosphere. It was everything I thought it would be as a basketball person, the history of Assembly Hall." J34 1 Quote

USC and UCLA mens games have gone on as scheduled this past weekend. Didn't know if this was a game that we had to reschedule due to the wildfires. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 19, 2025 Author Posted January 19, 2025 Indiana women's basketball coach Teri Moren: Plans to keep Karoline Striplin in the starting lineup going forward, hopes she can take some of the pressure of Lilly Meister by having her come off bench LockdownD 1 Quote
TTT Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Garzon 3 for 17 shooting Chloe at crucial moments in 2nd half 4 bad plays in a row including 3 turnovers…other than that played a good game including making USC guard work for her points. Bargesser played outstanding defense and overall played well. IU Ladies needed more from Ciezki offensively. Defensively good. As T. Moren stated post game (including UCLA) IU Ladies had good shots. They have to make shots. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Kinda an odd fringe season for us this year. We aren’t bad. We aren’t necessarily good. Feels like a bubble team to me. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners TTT 1 Quote
OliviaPope40 Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 As they said on the broadcast have to make free throws and make bunnies. We had too many turnovers. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 19, 2025 Author Posted January 19, 2025 We don't have much consistency. We muddled our way to a win at NW. Played very well at Iowa. Stunk at home against IL. We came up short today but overall didn't play that badly. We're sorely missing Mack's presence in the middle and Scalia's shooting, and we're not as quick as many of the other teams. We're above average but we're not a team that can make a very deep run come tournament time. Lot of lineup holes that have to be filled for next season. Aaron and GloryDays 2 Quote
