Paging @Loaded Chicken Sandwich!

The man, the myth, the legend ... the single most underrated-ly impactful player in the long and storied history of the program ... is back.

  • TONY BUCKETS
  • GRAMMA's FAVORITE HOOSIER
  • THE REALTOR

Anthony Leal

And based on the teams performance.... Should have played.

Waited a week and had to do like 6 root canals since IUBB took the court and this was the performance we get? Lol

Disjointed, confused, poor communication, never boxing out. Just ugly offense in general.

I do enjoy the random acts of talent, tonight by Rice and Tucker.

Reneau and Gallo had about as bad of games as I can recall.

I don’t know. We won. I should be happy, but this the same Woodson type performances I’ve become accustomed to. Still no pace on offense. Caught myself fast forwarding the game.

I suspect that we all feel a bit like those 6 patients.  Glad nothing bad happened, glad it’s is over, did not really enjoy the process, will be a bit put off for a few days, probably have ptsd fear they may have to experience it again.

But then we rarmember we are a mighty football school.

I didn’t see the game but have read the comments.

I haven’t seen a mention of the score. Based on what I’ve read I assume we lost by 35-40 (100-65 or so). Is that accurate?

Won by 11 against a pretty solid mid major program however for a team that has high expectations for the season there was a lot of areas that were concerning.   With 1:10 to go in the first half IU was up 36-20.   At half time that lead was down to 9 and by the under 16 timeout of the second half the game was tied.    Lost a 16 pt lead in  5 min of game time to a team that is around 158 in KenPom.

Why? Because he was calling a frog a frog? IU looked awful and he called it as he saw it.

The threshold for what people call ‘awful’ isn’t realistic.  Bottom line is it was an 11 point win over a decent but mid/low major.

The bad part of Hummel yesterday was he became a fan (or in this case, anti-fan) instead of an announcer.  It was obvious who he was pulling for.

There were definitely portions of the game where IU looked awful. We led 21-5 at one point. Then it was tied 40-40…

Hummel is really bad and once you start hearing it, you can’t ever ignore it again. You’ll always hear it now in every game he does. Sorry to break the bad news. Lol

Because he was redundant. He kept saying the same "they've gotta do better" comment over and over. And over. Without adding any additional insight.

Watching a game is supposed to be fun. When a team is playing crappy, tell the truth and move on to helping the viewer enjoy it anyway.

Hummel is a very talented announcer but last night was especially "dud-ish" by him. I don't think it's because of a pro-Purdue bias; I suspect it's more because he see's the potential of IU to be really good and doesn't see it happening on the court consistently. Nevertheless, his ultimate goal is to make the broadcast enjoyable. Instead, he made it even more frustrating.

Calipari couldn't make platooning work at UK with eleventy billion five-star recruits. I don't know why Mike thinks he can do it.

I'm as frustrated as anyone watching us play like complete a**.... watching us throw it in the post to Ballou, watching Malik not improve, watching MM only look for his offensively, watching Rice make crap decisions, watching Carlyle be awful offensively, etc etc etc.... but platooning? Didn't happen. Never really has. We played 8 guys last night and the 3 off the bench were on the court when we were playing our best ball.

This team shouldn’t go past playing 8 people. Starters + Galloway, Tucker and Goode. There is no reason to go beyond unless there’s an injury

Essentially that's what we did last night.  9 players saw action but Hatton only had 3 minutes.  Next lowest was Trey with 15 min.

Hummel was absolutely HORRIBLE tonight. Even on a Hummel scale.

Joy-suckingly horrible.

I don’t like the guy but he was saying a lot of things I was thinking. What is joy-sucking horrible is to let a mid-major get double digit offensive rebounds against us.

I could see that happening without Hummel saying it over and over. And over.

It was like watching the game with a Fire Mike Woodson thread playing in the background. For it to be true doesn't make watching the game more enjoyable. I need a Brian Butch day brightener game please.
