Adam Howard No Longer On Staff

Woody won an NBA championship as a coach with the Pistons.

So maybe we should focus on what they did at IU instead of anywhere else.  At IU it's not close, Archie was the worst coach in the history of IU basketball.

…as an assistant.  I do agree that Archie was worse here.  Should have never made it past the interview stage when it should have been obvious that this job was too big for him.

It’s hard to compare apples to apples because NIL has bailed out Woodson’s inefficient recruiting high school players.  Without NIL, Woodson’s tenure at IU would’ve most likely been over because of his lack of recruiting high school players

Woodys best year was his second when we beat Purdue twice and fished 2nd in the BT. Not sure NIL helped that much then did it?

It definitely played a big part in my opinion   One of the major  reasons TJD came back that year was because he knew he could make just as much in college as he would of going pro and if you believe people in the know one of the major reasons IU landed JHS was because of NIL.   Who knows for sure though

Yeah, Dane Fife was so right that he had multiple job offers lined up after his termination.

Just kidding, he’s working as a consultant at a risk management firm.

Dane's had job offers. He hasn't taken them for various reasons.

Long term ramifications? Lol, like what? If this season falls apart because a junior level staffer was fired for undermining the boss then this team was never very good to begin with.

IDK for sure. I just know what was told and he wasn't undermining anyone lmao.

?

Aren't you the poster that claimed Howard was fired because Woodson told him to do something and Howard didn't because he didn't agree with it? And then went behind Woodson's back and started complaining about it to other staffers? How is that not undermining someone, especially one that is your boss?

Yes, I did but I didn't use those words. Howard did ultimately do what Woodson wanted him to do. I never said he was complaining. That's putting a spin on it. I said he went to the other assistant/staffer to try and convince Woodson that they needed to change their approach. The other assistant agreed they needed to change but Woodson wouldn't listen. I've worked for multiple head coaches and if assistants got fired every time they didn't agree with a HC decision and talked about it amongst the rest of the staff that HC wouldn't have a staff. It's different to complain amongst the staff than it is complaining to fans, parents, players, and stuff like that. Most coaches don't want yes men but I don't think that applies to this situation.

Lol.

You may not have used the word "undermining, and likely for a reason, but what you just described is what undermining a superior entails.

Agree with a lot, but worst hire title still belongs to Archie

I guess I should clarify. I'm not really debating coaching acumen, obviously Archie had worse results. I'm saying Woodson has been the worst at killing my fandom. Archie sucked but when we hired him it wasn't the head scratcher that Woody was. Archie was an up comer that other people wanted. Woodson was a failed 60 year old NBA coach. I gave Woody a shot and the initial results were better. But now he's clearly a bust we can't get rid of him. He's taken the most scorched earth approach and attacks the fans, and taunts his own boss for being protected by the donors. If he wasn't who he is the cord would have been cut already

You must be clueless to how most coaching staffs work then. Nothing he did is uncommon at any level of sports.

This applies to every single workplace environment in America. If the owner or head of a company tells a junior level employee to do something and that said junior level employee gets caught talking s*** behind the back of the owner to another subordinate, he/she is going to be reprimanded, if not outright terminated. Something tells me this wasn't the first time this happened either.

Adam Howard isn't Kenya or Walsh or Yasir having a disagreement with the head boss over a scouting report or something of that nature.

We can agree to disagree. Also Adam Howard grew up in and around coaching staffs. I think he's well aware of what lines you shouldn't cross. He's also very well thought of in the coaching community. I'll leave it at that.

Adam Howard is no longer on staff. @Chris007 have you heard any details on this?

I'm sorry. By 4 on Friday, I was already in football mode. I'm sure you have heard why by now. Adam was asked to do something by Woodson, didn't think it was his job, waited a few weeks to do it. Woodson got mad didn't speak to Adam for a few weeks, then Adam confronted him and they had an argument and he let him go.

Adam was still frustrated about some recruiting things that happened awhile back with Woody. I haven't read the thread so sorry if I'm just saying what everyone else has.

Basically Woodson asked Adam to separate Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway in the locker room by moving their lockers and he refused, he said they're sixth year seniors and he didn’t want to do that. Adam did eventually do it though. Woody and Howard didn't talk for three weeks, when Adam pressed him on it Woodson blew up and said that he talks and shares too much with recruits and they got in an argument. Woodson also never got over Adam almost leaving to coach with May before Woodson came up with an official job for him. Woodson felt he wasn’t loyal.

Dang you went into a lot more detail than I was going to. But you are 100% correct.

I provided a lot of details on things that happened. That's really all you missed.
