I would be pretty happy with Burton + Estrella to start.

We really need a good starting CG. And an athletic starter at the 4. Gonna need to make some great evals on the role players.

That’s why it’s important to lock down guys like Burton, Estrella, Brumbaugh, etc down now. Getting into bidding wars for Flory, Haralson, Blackwell, etc could mean you end up losing out on quality guys above that already have strong connections to the staff.

Got it. Because the guys I have followed who have posted literally verbatim what are posting are Lettice, CurtCignettiSZN and JerryScoop469. But a lot of their info seems to be "leaks" from Trilly's substack.

I’ve got a few others too. We talked last portal season at length and shared dismay of the roster build as it unfolded.  Concerns creeping in again over certain positions. We will see.  It’s early and Hope Springs Eternal.  Or at least until the best portal targets are off the board.

Guys...I'm a planner. Always have been,  always will be. I just need you all to come to a consensus whether I should go ahead and book championship parade tickets for next April, or proceed with burning all my IUBB gear in the courtyard of my apartment, stumbling naked screaming obscenities into the unforgiving Indiana wind about Luke Jimenez and Jeff Oliphant. I don’t disagree with this at all. Find talent that fits and that’s good enough to win at the top level and lock it down. Burton and Estrella are both ++ targets. Brumabaugh im a bit more reserved about.  I want size, physicality, aggressiveness. Watching that UConn Michigan final shows the level of athleticism/size that makes the difference.  Michigan was on another level all year.  UConn just plays hard and tough.  Weren’t physically imposing, especially at a few spots.

Left out hoosiersrecruiting too. Regardless, I do think it's a bit early for people to completely lose their minds. Hiring a total pro like Carr as well as the other Carr and a full "cycle" with Clark should help with both connections and talent evaluation. I just don't see a complete redo of last year nor scattershot "overpays" like Woody's last year.

This staff needs to worry about assembling a roster that can comfortably make the tournament first and foremost next year, not trying to emulate Michigan or UConn. It’s not happening.

I’d agree with you about this for last year. And we screwed up.  Messed with any mojo we could build and set ourselves back.  So now we try again because we failed in year one.  Gotta aim higher and then when it doesn’t happen you are a 5 seed vs missing the whole dang thing.

IU has played in the NCAA tournament twice in the last 10 years. Again, I don’t know where you get off thinking the floor for nexts years team should be a 5 seed?

Mindset, Goals, resources.  The cignettti approach. Previous failures don’t project future results. It’s resource driven.  It’s a fairly new regime. Set the standard.

Rowan Brumbaugh, Markus Burton, JP Estrella, Juke Harris, Sanada Fru, Jaeden Mustaf, Adam Olsen, Aiden Sherrell. Seem to be the names IU is in the mix for. Seems like the twitter brigade and 24/7 may disagree on some.
