I could care less about Estrella whether he comes to IU or not. However, IU needs to overpay for p5 level big regardless of who it is.

Don't let the Howdy Doody look fool you.  He's a killer and he's going to go after a lot of our top targets and get them.  Even if he didn't necessarily need or want them.

The shoe is on the other foot compared to moments like landing Hoover before he hit the portal and getting Marsh to commit and cancel his ND visit.

Not disastrous by any means but we need to hit at some point.  But i fear these sought after portal guys will use our offers to leverage better offers from places they may deem better at this point.  We need 8 guys.  Portal players know we are in need and will use that to their advantage.  Not a good spot to be in IMO but hopefully the staff can get some of the guys they are targeting.

I'm thinking two and Burton would be a productive way to spend 10 mil. We'd still have 5 mil (just guessing) maybe more to fill the rest the roster.

Yep.  Would have been nice if we started the gradual build part last season.

If we do have around $13M, I think that’s a lot.

If Burton were to choose Houston and Estrella off the board and low/mid majors start visiting in droves, reality will be hard to swallow. 

Estrella and Bidunga as a potentially better Johnson and Mara. Who's the new Yaxel going to be?

Indeed it would have been. We over-spent last year on a total rebuild, and will be doing the same this year... at some point we need to get a few quality guys who will come here and stay here for a couple of years to help change the culture. That has to be high on the "to do" list for both DeVries and Carr. Otherwise, we're doomed to be over-spending for the cast-offs year after year after year.

Would be cool to actually hit on a freshman too. Give me a guy who plays 15-20 meaningful mpg year one and steps into a bigger role year 2. Been awhiiiiile
