1. Burton,
2. Estrella,
3. Olsen,
4. Cooper, and then
5. A big guy that reads like Michael Durr, and
6. A combo guard from Eastern Europe that plays because we don't have enough guards, or a stretch four from Eastern Europe if staff thinks that Ristic is a keeper.

Brumbaugh shot 7 FTs per game-- 15 times he shot 8 or more.... 9 times he shot 10 or more... 80%FT shooter

Burton, Brumbaugh, Estrella as three starters. Get a big, tough 4 man and 3+D wing (hopefully not Dorn) to round out the starters

Dorn, Sisley, Olsen off the bench. 

Olsen and Dorn can not both be penciled in as starters.

Pretty crappy we’ve got seven spots already filled by either incoming freshman or guys who showed us essentially nothing last year.

They obviously didn’t think he was ready to contribute last year. But honestly, I thought he looked fine physically and athletically the little he played, especially for a backup guard. If they think his development is going well enough, I don’t have an issue with saving money and having Ristic be the backup PG.

I'm cool with a 3 man freshman class IF the staff can develop them, but yeah keeping the bench Balkans really makes no sense. I guess I'm 50/50 on keeping Dorn hopefully he can get more consistent

The incoming freshman + euros are relatively inexpensive end of bench/developmental pieces. We ran out of money real quick last year trying to buy 13 brand new players.

My nightmare is a lineup featuring Brumbaugh, Dorn, Olsen at 2-4 that renders us bottom half of the conference again. :(

in his limited minutes I felt that he wasn’t ready for the pace of play or maybe he was nervous. Or both. I’d be fine rolling with him as a backup pg to spend on the starting 5 with the money saved as well.

Don't even bring that into existence lol. If Sisley can't start over Olsen in a worse case scenario, we have issues.

Yeah. ESPN has them #1 in their way too early top 25 article this morning. Long way to go with portal just opening but they look solid. They also had Michigan State and Illinois in the top 10 as well.

I know he isn't a transfer portal  player, but he affects how many portal guys we will need, because...

Prince-Alexander Moody is going to play as a freshman.

He just played in the DMV All-Star game and was interviewed post-game for one minute. The last question:

    "What are the next steps after this?"

    "Man, go win a national championship at Indiana. I ain't got nothing else to do. I'm gonna work as hard as I can to exhaustion and be ready for next year."

I agree. Will need to see how he does as a PG in the non conference. 
 

I do find it interesting that everyone thinks Ertl starts day 1 at Purdue but Karvala is ranked just a few spots below on the 24/7 composite. I know Karvala is slight on frame but maybe he can contribute off the bench too. Saving us money to spend elsewhere.

Geez it’d be nice if for once we had a 3/4* frosh pop and be an awesome starter a la Waggler or Braden Smith.
