That George lettice guy says DeVries is working Bigunda heavily but will likely be too expensive.

I have been paying attention to his posts, they seem pretty vague to me and puppet what Tyme says. We can all assume  Bigunda will be expensive. I think the "insider" with the most accurate info, until proven otherwise, is Trilly.

Thanks I have convinced myself that 12 million is getting passed pretty significantly. Based on nothing other than fear lol.

I'd guess it's #10-15 in the country, with #7 to #20 all being within a few million of each other.

We've just got to scout well and effectively pitch the guys we want to put this money to good use.  If we can't do that, it's pointless to give this staff more money, we would pull a '25-26 Kentucky.  And we don't have unlimited money at IU...

If we can show some traction and make the tourney, the money will go up.  Just like it did with football.  Especially if we make a S16 or something.

$12 million will get you 2-3 really good players. Problem is that IU needs more than just 2-3 really good players. It pretty much needs an entire new starting lineup and a couple of bench pieces.

It was close

Yaxel ~$5mil

Johnson/Mara/Cadeau all probably around $1 mil a piece

retention of Tschetter, Burnett (starter), Gayle (6th man) + two freshman Cason/McKenney collectively in the $1.5-$2mil range. So you're looking at around $9-10mil for Michigan compared to IU's ~$10mil. It's close. Michigan got way more out of their secondary and rotational pieces than IU.

Those numbers outside of Yaxel don’t add up to me. But I get it. Indiana at 10’ Michigan at 12-13. Or whatever,  either way, rosters need to be closer.

What doesn't add up? There's no way Cadeau and Mara got more than $1 million. Johnson may have gotten closer to $1.5, but collectively that trio was closer to $3mil than say $5 or 6 million. Would guess Burnett and Gayle were in the $500-750k range and Tschetter + 2 freshman were $300-500k

I have to disagree there.  Mara rode the bench at UCLA because Cronin had no clue how to play him.

That's just not true

He couldn't defend without fouling and was an utter liability at the line. He's developed a bunch at Michigan.

If it's $12M that is pretty good -- up about 20% from last season.  Especially for a program that's done diddly poo for a decade.

If we can't put together a solid team with that much money we're toast no matter how much we spend.

Give me the $12 Million, I’ll see what I can do…

That top 5 part is way off, Rabby said. That guy has been really low on what he says teams spend. He tried to say that ILL only spent 8 million this year.

Really need some transparency rules, to go with overall rules regulating the portal.

Trilly's insider info comes primarily from Andrew Slater via Rabjohns.

imo, you don’t go for bidunga…..especially since he is testing NBA waters.  You would have to keep a huge chunk of money aside while waiting.

Or convince one of the brass that he's the difference between a top 10 team and a top 25-30 team if push come to shove at the end.

Wrong.  1.4 fouls in 13 minutes is playable.  And it is a fact that his free throw shooting is worse at Michigan.

He could only play drop coverage at UCLA because of his proficiency to foul. Teams exploited him night in and night out.
