It was explained to me Leal with a better shot. Also will be able to help teach the system to the newer guys and add some leadership.

The second piece is the key and I think also the goal with him. Continuity of players in the incoming system is critical in a transition. And if he's Leal with a better shot then I'll take that as an added perk.

I want Hansberry and Powell.

Are they petitioning for another year for Small?

I remember watching multiple games of Hansberry in high school when he was a teammate of a kid that had an IU offer.  Don't remember who that was and too lazy to go back through my records but what I remember is Hansberry was really aggressive rebounding and driving to the basket and just an overall hardnosed player.

From Adam Finkelstein in June '22:  Hansberry has some of the best hands in high school basketball, excellent footwork, and a very high acumen for the game. While he doesn’t have elite size or explosiveness, he’s versatile and able to impact winning in a variety of ways. He’s a scoring threat with both hands around the rim, poised in the post, crafty with his use of fakes, able to create space with his broad shoulders, and a very good passer from multiple spots on the floor. Simultaneously, he’s a reliable free-throw shooter and continuing to expand his face-up game, without sacrificing his efficiency. He’s a high-volume rebounder, able to win 50-50 balls because of his length and hands, and in all the right spots on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he’s sometimes best as a five, but doesn’t project as much of a rim protecting presence at the next level.

I'm not sure there, but i trust DeVries more than myself (and a hell of a lot more than Woody) when it comes to roster construction and getting the pieces to fit together

To the original question of "can he play the 3"? The short answer is "he could" but I'd be pretty concerned about the defensive end if he was guarding quick players on the perimeter. WVU's defensive numbers were a bit better this season than they would have been if Tucker DeVries had been in the lineup all season. He's definitely best suited as a 4 but COULD play the 3, particularly if we had a good rim protector and a couple of other plus defenders in the lineup. It's going to be fascinating to see the puzzle get pieced together!

Offense 4, guard the 3 on defense

Fraziers next destination will be where alot of these players go that are being mentioned

Sounds like CD needs to bring in a heavy hitter recruiter.

I think before he signs his first transfer he'll have the opportunity to assemble an elite staff with the resources. That's step one. Young assistants that coach your offense can recruit talent. Get a young creative offensive mind that can identify the players that fit the system, a veteran you trust with a big ten background a guy familiar with the uniqueness of the state would hurt.

This is not a portal player but could be a player we might reach out to.  Dez Briscoe from Crispus Attucks committed Iowa back in Dec.   Could have a role as a player off the bench.  4-years of varsity basketball and was a double digit scorer and double digit rebounder for Attucks.

Not sure if this guy is talented enough for the B1G but is rated as a 4 star.

Jalen Jackson, pg from PFW.

Ft. Wayne guy, so I’m sure he understands and would appreciate the opportunity to play at IU.

Averaged over 19 ppg, over 3A OG, and shot at a 48.4% clip, although only 29% from 3.

Those numbers kinda remind me of JHS numbers.
