With respect…..I have been around multiple corporate decision makers that do everything humanly possible to try to be sure the buck doesn’t stop with them. They make excuses, blame the market or underlings and then, when they are unsuccessful blaming others, they walk away with settlements that make Tom Allen’s look like chump change.

As I said, enough bad decisions and they gone.  Never said they would be poor.

Please stop making the mistake of conflating “explaining” and “defending”.

I’m guessing I am in the minority here but I completely agree with the above statement from Kathy.

In my opinion she has provided a number of interesting tidbits but many have blasted her as if she is defending the current status quo when in fact she has been describing what is going on as opposed to saying the current situation is acceptable.

Wow I'm tired. I took me way too long to realize you said Tom Allen and not Tim Allen.

HORRENDOUS guys like Stephenson at ATT, Ebbers, Ballmer, Lay etc etc lasted for years. I’ve been around long-term CEO’s of small and mid cap  companies, that are not well known, that were absolutely horrible  and made decisions that drove the companies into the dirt. The corporate world is not always an efficient machine.

She was defending.  I’m not going to go back and quote all the posts.

Where did I say it was?  And of course there are bad corporations.  But look at the “good” ones.

No need for the lecture,  I was just throwing something out there to the people who are wondering what's going on in the "bored" room. I personally don't give a darn. But, every meeting has a scribe assigned.

Not a lawyer, just a guy that hates public firms, politicians, etc, hiding/withholding information from the tax paying public. And the way you explained it, confirms the distrust.

Didn't mean for my reply to be a lecture and I'm sorry you took it that way.

No worries! We all want the same thing for our University. Didn't mean to come off as a smart*ss. My apologies.

Go IU

Never once did I defend any of it but I did, on multiple occasions, attempt to explain to you how the process works. Your frustration is rooted in your disagreement with the process and / or your inability to understand how and why it exists, as well as the fact that it hasn’t produced the outcome you desire. It’s why I cautioned you to not conflate an explanation with a defense, which you continue to mistakenly do.

You did and that's ok.  Like I said, I'm not going back thru the posts.

I gotta tell ya’ I’m at a loss as to why it exists given the horrendous results it produces.

Do why don’t you start there: Given the poor results from said process, why does it continue to exist?

The Sunshine Laws for the state of Indiana were changed a couple yrs after the RMK firing to eliminate closed meetings. Last I remember, the BoT is a voted on position. So, if you're an alumni, you voted them in. Same accountability as government.

Sent from my SM-S906U using BtownBanners mobile app

The Indiana BOT is mixed between elected by alumni and governor appointed.  Believe majority are appointed.

I'm sure I already know the answer to this, but has this ship completely sailed? It seems the recruiting fire has been ignited to some degree. Doesn't appear there's been any movement with McNeeley yet. Is there any chance the message can be flipped, show who we're in on in the portal and how that will change our offense, and that we have a fresh stockpile of cash with his name on it?
