They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

So not wanting him on the floor or hearing the toxicity from the fans is “blood lust” to have him fired asap, but forced to be humiliated by the student section isn’t? I would argue anyone who wants him to suffer through AH on edge is operating much more in the name of “blood lust” than those wanting to cut the cord to avoid it.

And for the record, he will deserve all the heat he gets.

At this point, I'm good with either. Woodson continues to bring this raining down on himself... IMO, he will face the wrath of the fanbase if he continues to be on the sidelines... and he will have to concede defeat to quit and walk away... either way, I see that his reputation and legacy have been tarnished beyond repair... and it's 100% his doing.

Unsurprisingly ... he also stated the job was "drastically overrated", he also stated VCU would beat us VO's SO year.... he's wrong a lot.

I mean that wasn't an outlandish take. Needed a Will Sheehey jumper with time running out to advance.

Seth Davis the the definition of a dweeb. Guaranteed he was bullied growing up.

Astonishing to me certain dudes are allowed in the sports world, to begin with. Seth Davis vs Woj in a game of HORSE... the loser deletes their Twitter account and has to work at Wendy's.

Thats where I’m at. Morally, I don’t like the idea of an old man humiliated on the sideline, but they’ve made this bed (and that includes the administration). So whatever at this point. I just wish they had acted like the program we pretend we want to be a pulled the plug. This season is already circling the drain, who cares who the interim is.

Feel free to correct me, but that pretty clearly sounds like you referring to wanting him canned now as blood lust. And frankly, it’s not incorrect, but wanting him humiliated by the fans is no better in that regard. And worse by some measure.

Agree... but remember, this whole thing is of Woodson's own making.

Game time tomorrow 12 eastern, if it's not announced today that Woody is "gone gone" and the contemplating is over. I will have enough time to get to Bloomington from St Louis to BOOOO him in person.  You think "The Hall" was bad during the Illinois game it's going to be a freaking zoo if Michigan get's up double figures and we just lay down and die.

I want to hear the Booo’s roar!  They need to be extremely load, especially when they introduce him!

If he wants to continue to show his @$$, let him. He's the only one who suffers in the long run. IU will proceed professionally and hopefully make a great decision on the next coach. Mike Woodson's tenure at IU as a thorn in the sides of fans will be forgotten quickly with any amount of success. We all feel that Mike Woodson is acting unprofessionally and with retribution in mind, and no one supports someone acting like that. None of us or the leadership at Indiana should be acting in a manner like that, either. Let MW make his own bed. Even if it's not until the end of the season, he's still the one who has to lie in it.

For me either McCasland or Dusty would be an absolute, unmitigated, massive win.

A chance to get a very high quality coach and public persona that can thrive in the job for 20+ years.

How did McCasland move up on the list ??  There are at least 10 names with better resumes before we get to a guy who "well, he went to the ncaa tournament twice in his career...once sweey 16, once round of 32"....if that is our goal...to make the ncaa every 5-10 years...otherwise, we need to shoot higher

Bruce Pearl has been past the S16 twice and has coached over 20 years. He’s a unanimous pick by many.

I agree with some of this, disagree with others. Dont think coaching candidates would bat an eye at putting sorry Woody back on the shelf with 8 games left - do think they’d be turned off by basically two months of fans booing coaches and players at home. What kind of home court advantage is that? Maybe enthusiasm is so bad, attendance will be low enough that those optics don’t leave a lasting impression…

Already Noon and no official word from the University.  What a freaking clown show.  Clearly a lot of BS is happening behind the scenes.  Scott needs to go to Whitten and end this chit.  Since he won't go peacefully, fire his sorry a$$ for insubordination (among other things) and escort him out of the building.  There's a game in 24 hours.

In the long run, I don't think other coaches view any of that as a factor. They're smart enough to know if you win, you get cheers, and if you lose, you get boos.
