Archie got 4, so every coach for the rest of time must be given 4 regardless of other factors.

Until Woodson is still the coach and putting together the roster for next year in few weeks I'm going to hold out a little hope that something else is going on.

In a general sense I would agree that coaches need 3-4 yrs to do their thing.  But this is in no way a general situation

I mean, sure! Not that they are convincing given the downside, but the collective reasons are:

• We just went through this three years ago. We cannot attract coaches and talent if we bail every year we see adversity.
• It would be arguably more expensive to dump him than keep him for one more year.
• Our highest level donors have strongly asserted that they want him back.
• He's two for two in tourney appearances, and this season isn't finished so it's remotely possible he could be three for three.
• All three of his teams have improved over the course of the season.
• He's made adjustments during each season.
• His best recruiting has been very late in each cycle.
• If a crap coach like Archie got four years, a more successful program legend should get at least that long.

Don't blow back at me -- the trend and what we've seen this year is no bueno, but you asked for the justification and there it is.

I would think these next 14 days will be interesting.  I think Woodson definitely returns if we win against Michigan State and our first BTT game.  It could be a different story if we lose our last two.  Once the season ends, we'll see who enters the portal.  My guess is that most of the players will enter the portal or indicate their NBA draft intentions.  That means a total rebuild which will take 2-3 years if done properly.  Does Dolson really want to commit to Woodson for 2-3 more years? If a rebuild is going to be done, bring in an actual college coach to do it.  We've learned that an NBA coach learning on the job is not the answer.

Red items usually have red dye 40 and that causes me to become even more irritable, so no, sorry.

I feel some of these are debatable though but appreciate the response. I knew you would give a nice thoughtful answer

How blind are these people?  You don't give him another year just to give him another year.  There has to be solid evidence that things will improve. Makes absolutely no sense.  Do they not understand how things are likely to go and how ugly things will get?  Everyone including Woody would be much better off if they pulled the plug right now.
