Fire Coach Woodson Thread

They were arguing over whether to foul or not. Ya knew we had a foul to give and wanted to use it. Woodson was saying there was too much time left to foul. We didn't use it and they made the 3. Rosemond was not happy about it.

Typical CMW. Don't foul. Just let them shoot a 3 and win. Should've fouled and reset the defense.

The entire basketball program needs to be overhauled. I like Hulls, Walsh, and Cliff, but everyone outside of Garl needs to be let go. We have to get rid of the losing culture and mediocrity that has been established by the last two head coaches.

They will not fire Woody before the season is over, but I what they should do is announce soon that he will retire at the end of the season. That helps protect his image, ease the frustration of the fan base, and allow these players to go out and play loose. It seems obvious and I’m sure it is to Dolson, but Woody seems arrogant enough to fight against a plan like this. I truly believe he thinks he is doing a fine job. I’m glad his time as our coach is nearing an end.

Garl should be gone now if he knew of Bomba’s digital rape fetish and did nothing

I agree with the first sentence. I think people like Hulls and Cheaney will always have a job if they want one on the staff or in the athletic department. I feel Hulls is ready to move up to be an assistant. I think Garl is about ready to retire, he's been here forever and now his name is named in the lawsuits.

ON the second part I don't necessarily agree he makes it through the season.

I've done that one time on a bench. I didn't argue with the HC during the game but definitely yelled some nonsense in frustration lol

I will just say that emotions were high in the locker room after the game from players and coaches.

I will Jerry share what he knows.

3. I was told that is who it would be a couple of weeks ago. @ap2345 was the first to have this info. Most thought it would be Ya

I even thought it was going to be Ya initially

That’s actually a bad look on Ya’s part imo. That’s the HC’s call. Woodys reasoning is defensible, even though it didn’t work out.

In my experience, you can bring it up again over drinks later that night if you have that kind of relationship. But showing the boss/HC up in public like that is not kosher and shouldn’t be tolerated.

Anyone that has ever been an assistant coach and had a pulse has had these moments.  It is part of the deal.  But most of us are not in this position where every single thing we do is being watched super closely by a fan base hoping for change.

It's a circus and has been behind the scenes since year 1. It is what it is at this point.

Sending Mike into retirement would ATLEAST give this team a shot to do something this next stretch of games. They have no chance with him in charge. Release the chains.

Yea.  If Kenya is the coach do we beat Maryland?  Probably.

Just like we have plenty of games left to get over the “hump”

I don't ever remember an interim coach being brought in from the outside after the HC being fired mid season. I just don't see that happening and it isn't like you can come in and I still a new offense or defense this late into the season. If they do eventually fire Woodson mid season the interim will be one of the current assistant coaches.

This is correct. You are bringing someone in totally from the outside. Not gonna happen
