Fire Coach Woodson Thread

I know nothing about the situation behind the scenes for a fact, don’t claim to… what I do know for a fact having worked in Media Relations for a bit and having taken a course taught by the late great Terry Hutchens, who brought in guest speakers like Jeremy Gray, Bob Ryan, and JD Campbell… the timing of an announcement like this is always supposed to be kept air tight. I doubt any of us will know the timing until it’s out to the public, if the IU athletics comms team runs a tight ship. I think he gets the full year but its interesting to hear a plan is supposedly in place if they need to break the glass in case of emergency.

My question is how do we know they are actually are in the know because they will never say how they are affiliated with the program 

Now is not the time to attack insiders or question their knowledge imo. The majority of this board like to read their posts. The majority have seen their posts for years and can make our own decisions on what to believe. How do we know for sure their info is legit? Lol ridiculous. We don't. Just enjoy it or block them. I don't see any reason to go down this road again currently.

Ok well as I said before, you just have to decide for yourself what to believe and what not to believe. Take what is said with a grain of salt and remember that what they share is often not the final decision, just what is being passed along to them. I can't really offer any other advice than that. I'm fairly new to this board so I'm less familiar with everyone here so I try to follow the advice I gave you as well so as not to drive myself nutters diving down rabbit holes lol

Actually I am not attacking them at all but don't understand why some on here takes what they say as gospel.  Most on here yesterday just thought Woodson was actually going to lose his job after OSU just because a few says it's in the works.

Again it will s nothing about those guys but more about some on here who takes everything that is said as gospel. For the record I don't believe most when it comes to these rumors

This part always cracks me up. We’re not even to Sunday or Monday yet and no one said anything was a done deal, just that there is a plan in place for an interim coach. So we start tearing people down because it’s not working out exactly how people want it to. Fun times.

Ok well there's not really anything you can say or do to change what others choose to believe so why stress over that? People are going to believe what they want and express it. Information that is shared may or may not be true but it does give a basis for conversations and insight as to how others perceive what is going on. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's fair that you choose not to believe what is being shared by some, and I and others won't try to convince you otherwise. Just have fun with it, it gives us something to discuss while we wait to see how the circus plays out.

He still might? He still might after northwestern! You don't have to be a insider to see the path forward is scary! I don't need inside information to believe the administration has probably had a meeting to discuss what to do moving forward! Zero chance they are committed to finishing the season and likely not a chance a decision has officially been made. I have my opinion on what should happen. Others on here believe it will look bad to fire him now because the record isn't bad yet. To be honest there really isn't a good way out for them. It's a mess! I believe a retirement this weekend early next week is their best move. I believe they are dumb and will ride this far to long and we will be doomed to watch the purdue and michigan home games as our beloved basketball program officially burns and dies before our eyes with woodson taking the fall. As he should if that happens

Our administration has been afraid to fire coaches for the past 20 years. I guess I'm not sure why this will be any different.

Nobody is tearing you down. Scotty clarified that. Your one of the best posters on here. I am sure many don't like my annoying ramblings but I don't care lol

It’s one dude, just ignore his posts IMO. Most of us absolutely appreciate the tidbits people like yourself are bringing to this thread. It’s the only reason I read this thread atm.

It may end up being true but I'll stick with what I believe based on no sources. I believe he is here the whole year at a minimum. If he can win a game or two in the ncaa he may get a 5th year. I base this on 25 years of complete incompetence from our admins. I hope am wrong though.

One game isn’t going to matter. I see a 4-8 record the rest of the way. NW, Wash, PSU, and OSU as the 4 wins. That’s not going to be good enough to save him imo.  A plan is needed.

You may be right! You might be wrong. What happens on and off the court will determine what happens. If they are as You say committed to the entire season no matter what then it may get ugly. Like really bad for all involved

I think he should be talked into coming out and announce he is retiring at the end of the year. Let him coach out the year like Davis did when he announced he wasn't coming back the next season. Like I said the fans know the real story but nationally and even potential candidates would likely look at firing a coach with this record as a bad look.

I hope any potential candidates that we would be going after would have a good enough basketball mind to realize Woody is a shitty coach.
