I listed the consensus favorites which of course are : Stevens, Pearl, and May. Of the three, I would only consider Pearl to be a home run hire. I have several reservations with both Dusty May and Brad Stevens. Doesn't mean they couldn't win here, but wouldn't shock me if they didn't.

I think Musselman could handle the noise and expectations but I don't think his style is sustainable. Plus I don't think fans would like him.

Wow, this has gone off the rails.

I think he should be let go, or a retirement accounced before the end of season. What I worry about is the environment at home games. These players don’t deserve to hear the fire mike woodson chants, they don’t deserve to hear the crowd clamor for Dusty, and I worry for their senior night.  A guy like Goode who wanted to play here his whole life shouldn’t have to carry the weight of the shitty coach for the whole season. An interim allows the team to play freely without the shadow over them, and to be honest, I think without the shackles of Woody's system they would play better. OSU last year is the perfect example, they just needed a reset of the vibes around the program and they Diebler let them play freely. Let Kenya coach the team without the cloud for two months.

If conversations have been made about how to get rid of him immediately, I really do hope we hear something for certain before the Ohio State game. With how bad last night was, I don’t like the thought of nothing being said for too long. Doesn’t make sense to let things get even worse. Fans have had it.

This is where Whitten could come in handy.  Send her to Boston and stroke that massive ego Tracy apparently has.  Give her what she wants.  Let her be the queen of Bloomington for the next 20 years or whatever.  

So why did he publicly dismiss his interest in IU and any possibility that he’d take the job? Why not say “They made an incredibly generous offer and I love it there, but our family decided that this is the place for us”? Instead, we got the “Masshole” soliloquy, which was dismissive to both IU and IU fans.

At the absolute least the admin is going to take the time they have with the two away games. If both are bad losses, I would expect the admin to make some sort of announcement. Obviously, their preference is to let him finish the season, so they will watch these two games for something to hitch the wagon to.

I came here to discuss the process and mindset within the University on matters such as this, and the “Fire Woodson” crowd didn’t care for that. The mistake I made was suggesting their reactions were emotional, which elicited an extremely emotional response from the unemotional and rational posters whom I called “emotional”.

He talked highly of IU before that.  The masshole comment came after the decision had been made.

I picked Muss on purpose. This past weekend after they beat Illinois you said he’s “a really good coach”. Now when he’s brought up as a Woody replacement, his style is suddenly unsustainable.

Today is getting weird in here because I definitely agree with you here lol. I’ll probably get skewered for this take but…..

While I do think it would be a slam dunk hire and would be thrilled, I do think there are some questions with BS. He hasn’t coached college in a decade and hasn’t coached at all in a minute. BS isn’t the grand slam home run he would have been after Crean anymore, more like a two run bomb with the potential to be a grand slam. Forgive me for my extended analogy lol
