Hard to choose, that 75 team was better than the 76 team but IMO you can't beat the 81 team ... monster team with depth. Still holds the record for average margin of winning in that tournament.

Not too long ago, I re-watched the game with Maryland from the 81 tournament. Total domination..

I’ll never forget the line in the Sports Illustrated article: “after sporting Maryland an 8-0 lead (like Renaldo Nehemiah giving Jackie Gleason a few hurdles head start)”. ROFLMFAO!!

That whole situation is messed up. Apparently Reneau was reluctant to foul because he had 4 and knew it, woody laid into him after the fact. Reneau said he had 4 to woody and then woody said he was yelling Gallo! Gallo!....whole situation is messed up

That's kind of what I saw.  But just evidence of a poor coaching job.  If there was communication issue, laying into a player isn't the best way to go about it.

And I'm a guy all for laying into players when they deserve it.

Old days were great!  I’ve watched all 3 of BK’s championships.  Even though the 1975 and 1976 teams were pretty awesome I think his best team, IMO was the 1992 or 1993 team.  I believe it may have been the 1993 team and Henderson got hurt and that hurt our chances to win it all.  I made it to the elite 8. The 92 team made it to the FF4.

The '73 team (Downing, Abernathy, Crews, Ritter, Green, Buckner, Laskowski, Ahfeld, Bootsie) was pretty good, as well... we got hosed in the first game of the FF against Bill Walton and UCLA...

I tried taking a Woodson a few minutes ago but had a hard time getting over the hump.

3rd times a charm?

Wait...are you talking about 3rd times the charm for Pearl,  or for iubhounds2 getting over the hump for his poo?

Don’t knock Edgewood.

We beat Bedford, North, and South to win the Bedford sectional when I was there….   :)

Everyone around here knows I'm a proud Edgewood alum. And we were there at the same time :-)

And we beat Terre Haute North but lost to WRV

Both '75 and '76 teams were undefeated and were the best team the entire season.  Heck, the '76 team beat the NCAA runner up 3 times (a coworker of mine from Michigan claimed UM was the better team, but IU just "had their number" LOL).

The '81 team peaked exactly the right time and really destroyed all comers.

So...with the weekend game being on Sunday as opposed to Saturday do we see ANYONE from the staff sporting the Trident at Sectional play tonight? (In particular a school in Hancock County)
