Me.

But then I probably am taking this question out of context.

I do not know about the team members that may have been somewhat disgruntled in the past for not getting prime playing time.  But I would never ever point them out on a chat site to be ridiculed.

I would rather do that to some of the 'fans' that aren't 'true fans'.      /s

I remember, way back before my grownup offspring were born...  Seemed all IU fans made schedules around IU basketball games.  The world seemed to be put on the back shelf during those 2+ hours.

If I miss a game now because of something...  It happens.   However, if all things are even, we do watch if possible.

What I liked about the game last night was the team effort, the rebounds, the defense...especially in the first half.

Hope that our two starters that went down recover quickly.

I lost a bet last night.  No flagrant fouls.  But why does Xavier take his time getting the ball in to the offense?  Why does Woody allow that?  Oh....never mind.    I know why.

That bugs me too, seems like he wants to dribble and the ball does seem to stick more when he’s in the game than Cupps, Leal or Trey.  I think his game is to prove the defense and make a move inside the paint and that’s why it sticks IMO

I think he maybe referring to Banks and Gunn

Yup.

Anthony Leal's post-game comments in some sense may have been directed toward them. Now that Anthony has credibility as a player-leader, not just a practice voice, it's time for him to be there for those guys.

Previously his leadership was severely limited - it was like having a grad assistant offering encouragement. Now? CJ can see Anthony's path.

OK @Uspshoosier you may continue as usual.

Didn’t even see your comment until now.  lol

As long as there are games to be played I am always going to show the path.   When that path comes to a dead end I will be the first to tell you

In the slow motion replays of the X injury it looks to me like an Iowa player was pulling on his shirt.  Anybody else see that?

I did. I don't know what constitutes a flagrant, but I'm surprised that wasn't looked at. That pull of the jersey had at least something to do with him landing at the angle he did.

I thought that too!  I think we are the only ones to get flagrant fouls called on them, lol!  That’s why it wasn’t called

Nah, the refs just didn't want to have to deal with the Franimal! LOL.

Eric said on Peegs this morning that nothing is broken for either player. Both should be back this season and maybe as early as Saturday.

I am so happy for Leal. LCS and I have been saying play Leal all year. LOL

In the last two games, we have actually played hard.

Wish we could see all of our starters play a whole game together.

Bring on Penn St and the Fighting Tom Allens.

Leal played a great game, hands down.

Question though is whether that's sustainable. I don't mean to rain on the parade, but that's one game. I like his understanding of the floor, now here's to hoping he can add some steady play in other games.

We actually hit more threes than Iowa last night 8/22 vs 6/22.  I could be wrong, but I think that may have been the first game this year that we outscored our opponent from the 3-pt line.  I'd prefer that we shoot about 25 threes per game, especially on the road.

I think he can come in and help the rest of the season. He's not going to give us 40 minutes a night but I think he can give us 10-15 minutes.

That's a chunk of minutes. He wasn't scouted for this game, I'm interested to see what he can do in more regular minutes if/when teams expect to see him. Has to be a facilitator.

What he can do is attract the attention of one more defender and help to open up the floor.

A dude like Leal was needed. And I've said it before. He is someone who is just proud to wear that jersey. He puts it on because of his love and passion for the program and university, not because of money or anything else. That's a player and attitude we as fans have kept asking for out of players. Why we don't have names on the back of jerseys right? But for whatever reason, Leal was never good enough. Yet every time he was in, even if subtle, he showed signs of positive play. Even if it was just swinging the basketball quickly. But he's definitely more of a vocal leader than a guy like Trey and I'm convinced he knows the system, plays and where everyone belongs more than every other player and probably more than a couple coaches. We've been begging for a kid who will just play with heart, even if he doesn't stuff the stat sheet. I'm not expecting 13 and 7 out of him. I'm not expecting any stats. Just heart and leadership. It's what we've needed so badly.

For those who re-watch games, check out Leal coaching Sparks from the bench in the 1H on a switch to get Sparks up on Sandfort near the left wing. Leal was standing up screaming at him, Sparks heard it and sprinted up. Hey LCS man I am happy for you as I am Leal!!
