Played harder but when  Reneau fouled out I knew it would be difficult to when.  When Xavier Johnson missed those two free throws, that pretty much done us in, and that foul called on X was horrible.

We are definitely treading water now with little shot to make the dance

Yep, we needed this game for sure.

Woodson has to change his style or this is all moot. And I pose this question again…Why would anyone want to play in this system?

I don’t know outside of the players listed…. Don’t think Any team will be knocking on the doors for the rest of our guys.

It’s old. So old. I don’t care that it was close. I want this program to win.

1000% agree!  I’m am tired of losing and not making the tournament and winning games in the tournament. I know we made it the last two years, but no deep run, plus we should expect to be in the dance every year

Reneau knows he’s gonna miss the tourney.  Really a shame. He’s excellent but he doesn’t get much help.  This roster Woody put together is criminal.  I feel really bad for Reneau and Gallo, they leave it all out there.

seems Woody is done with Banks, Gunn too. We will need an entirely new team next year and I guess maybe that’s ok but………

Sadness

The cupboard is dry my friend.

Big men would, but no guards that are worth a darn.  Probably why Boogie Fland didn’t commit.

It’s like we focus so much on post play we forget about everything else

If we didn't have post play, we'd have nothing.  We can focus on taking more 3s, but they can't hit water if they fell out of a boat.

Fundamentals for this team has been awful all year. Bad FT shooting, poor blocking out which affects rebounding. Both have impacted every game this year

That’s primarily it in a nutshell

Can anyone explain why Woody defended cj for the elbow but then made him sit the entire game? Meanwhile x gets another stupid and unnecessary tech and plays most of the game. I am confused but I think the answer is somewhere between coach don't have a clue what he is doing or he is a just a bleep

What system is that?  We have zero outside shot.  Can't run a shooting system with guys that can't shoot.  And yes, it's on Woody to find guys that can shoot.  At this point, recruit the Hyper.

Mbacko didn’t play defense today. That hurt us a whole bunch. The obvious is the perimeter shooting and free throws. This is my least favorite team since Crean’s start from scratch year.

At least with that team, we had no expectations and wasn’t a big let down.  This is as bad of a coaching job that I’ve ever seen at IU, IMO and we had Archie Miller and Mike Davis as head coaches.  I didn’t want to ever say this, but I miss Tom Crean.  At least his teams had an identity, competed and had shooters

Because Woody didn't want to double our 9 turnovers?

Dolson probably told him over the week off that Banks and Gunn aren’t serviceable

That makes no sense.  CJ Gunn has a lot of issues, but he doesn’t turn the ball over.  Asking why Gunn got benched but X just saw a temporary decrease in minutes is a legitimate question.

Agreed, though despite a bad plus/minus today I don’t know that Gunn would’ve been better than Leal.

Woody hasn’t had a good year but the coaching today wasn’t the problem.

Woody has to retain Reneau this off season.

I hate to say it…but if I was Reneau, I’m listening to every big time program and moving on to somewhere that I can cash a huge NIL check and make a run at a championship.

He won't be back in my opinion, and nobody will blame him!

They actually had the 6'5 Indiana All-Star shooter visit last spring toward the end of the recruiting period from Linton. Can't remember his name but he chose to sit the bench at UK for his next four years instead. I think I remember that IU was hot on the guard at the same time, but he went to Tennessee.

Joey Hart from Linton....he will play at UK at some point, kid is an incredible shooter!
