And now I'm thinking about root beer floats!

A couple weeks ago I thought Mullins was a lock and Haralson was headed for Kansas or whatever. Now the tables seem to have turned. Would be disgusting if Mullins goes down to Sister Humping U!

Did they change their standards? I thought they were just the Kentucky Kissin' Kousins.

Standards?! In Kentucky? I guess they have some standards: The fewer teeth the better. Maybe having a working fridge on your MaMaw's porch, powered by electricity you pirated from that uppity neighbor, of course. And a credit line with your meth dealer.....that about sums up the good life down there.

I think according to forum rules, it's OK to call someone a dum bass.

I do believe, however, calling someone a dumb @$$ is frowned upon.

I can't remember for sure.

Howzabout a dumb bass?

It's still too early to call but this recruitment is becoming a three-team race amongst UConn, Indiana, and Kentucky” -Branham

i would say this bodes well for us. UK is about to sign a 5 star SG and uconn isn’t close to come (yes, that has been rumored to be a thing)

I am sorry. I thought this was a discussion among like-minded fanbase. If this is a private club where newbies are denigrated for having a friendly discussion, I wish someone would mention that when we join...I can find 100 posts similar to mine that nobody ******* about. Go back to bed.

Ya missed the point.  No one likes a record skipping and playing the exact same thing over and over.

I hope no one takes this wrong, but Barrel Rick is the only reason I think he is committing to IU. Geography is the only thing that makes sense.

  • A local kid who is close to his family and friends,
  • All of whom would love to have easy access to seeing him in action,
  • Likely wants premium NIL,
  • A coach who has a recent history of NBA connections and getting kids to the NBA, and
  • Wants to play for a big-time program with other big-time players?

That seems like a pretty good IUBB fit to me. We are not the only program that fits most of those criteria, but the first two points are pretty uniquely IU.

I hope he chooses the best fit for his basketball future. I'll be happy if we get him but I've went and watched him alot the last year and a half and part of me will be sad for him if he picks IU.  There are coaching staffs out there that can put him in the league in two years. Ours isn't one of them. He needs a coach that runs elite offensive stuff that will benefit his development and exploit his skill set.

He got JHS in the NBA in one year. You are letting your dislike for the coach to cloud your judgement

You can rip Woody all you want, but one thing he's proven, he gets guys ready for the NBA.

Yeah probably 80-90% of all high school recruitments comes down to geography.  Nothing new.    Always bet on the home team if they have put in work to get the state talent and the kid is serious about going to the state school.    Of course it’s happened where they don’t get a kid but usually geography is going to win out most of the time

I understand the thought but if he hits open shots and his athleticism holds up to be a solid defender he’ll excel anywhere.

For as much as I doubt Woody, as this is part of the reason, he runs NBA actions. That’s part of why the NBA is drafting Woody guys.

I prefer faster/more ball movement. More off ball actions. More cutting. Etc. That’s a big reason I like college basketball but much of that isn’t emphasized in the NBA.

Shooting/defending/ shot-making creativity has been emphasized.

Liam McNeeley is an NBA dude. Without question. I think Mullins could be, but he isn’t a McNeeley level player. And none of this matters if he hits 40+% of his threes.

You’re right about Mullins and McNeeley being different level players. Mullins is a much better athlete. One is a traditional SF and the other is a traditional SG.
