ALOT QUIETER THAN WARE.

I think less enthusiasm is part of that equation.  But also he has and still has his other visit set up.

imo, we must feel pretty good as it seemed to be a Battle/Ledlum battle and we didn’t try to keep working on Battle, or so it seems.

i guess you could also project that Knecht even though we have space for both could be the Ledlum replacement option.

fair.  Would be nice to get a majority of our openings locked up so we can shift focus to our one last spot and to the 24 class and further out

We might have taught ourselves a lesson with the Ware fiasco too?
Tomorrow will be an excellent day...

I like Ledlum, don't get me wrong.  I think he'll be a Hoosier too but recruiting 6'6'' guys are a dime a dozen compared to 7 foot rim protectors.  Then Ware is also kinda a statement recruitment that Indiana is serious about its goals.  Generates buzz.  Maybe overhyped but buzz is good for programs.

There is buzz and there's winning. If their both at IU, I'd bet Ledlum has a bigger impact on IU winning game than Ware.

Ware wins you the offseason, I'd bet Ledlum wins you more games in-season.

Excellent insight. Even if Ware doubled his stats from Oregon (asking an awful lot) he would be at 32mins 13pts, 8reb, 2.5blks/1 asst per game.

Of course, I would take that right freaking now for certain, and those number likely make him a first round draft pick. However, that isn't even close to what TJD just did and the season's results were still less than we all hoped.

I guess my point it is, it will take a lot more than Ware to get IU where they need to be. A down in the trenches guy like Ledlum seems like a big part of that.

Ware is a high potential player. He could very easily be the best C in the league. It’s also possible we are frustrated and not getting what we know he’s capable of.

Kid was accused of being lazy and had a PER over a 21 iirc.

Winning teams need ledlums for sure but they often have Wares as well

Leadership and locker room matters a whole lot more than many give it credit for.

Winning games is not primarily an effort to accumulate highly ranked talent.
