no doubt.. Walton is like.. "and they dribble past mid point line, which reminds me of a 1972 subaru I had that I took surfing one time, well  I actually took it more than one time, but it was this one time that I am talking about". ,,,,  blah blah blah..

That would be one of Walton's more coherent games if he actually mentioned something about the current game.

I am glad we are finding ways to win some of these down to the wire games. But at this point I have no idea how good our conference is. Seems like everyone is losing to someone on a regular basis. I am concerned about our guard play once we get into the tournament. If we had a fully healthy XJ, I think we would be formidable. Not so sure right now. There doesn't seem to be a consensus best team so maybe we have a shot. But, right now, I think we could be a final four team or a first round exit.

But we do have the best overall player in the conference and if our bench can start providing the depth that we need and one other player start adding additional scoring each game, we could go on a nice run!  Those are big if’s but it must start now!  Kopp finally scored in double figures today but Kopp, Galloway, Bates and Geronimo have been so inconsistent on the offensive end.  We need at least one of them to start scoring more consistently and it starts by quit being hesitant to shoot the darn ball.  Take the first open look and quit shot faking

I'm likely in the minority but I kinda like Underwood. I listen to his pressers and I come away thinking he's alright.

His presser today he went on a 2 minute excuse rant that he ended saying but no excuses.  Lol.   I don’t mind him and I think he is a good coach

Yeah he did. I guess I'm used to coaches using excuses but then saying "next man up" or "not an excuse" so I don't hold him to a different standard lol.

I wanted Underwood when IU hired Archie. And I stand by that.  You want to talk minority opinions?

Suck farts Illini!

Watched the final 15 minutes at a bar in the land of Josh, Stu, FloridaHoosierGirl, and Nips (and probably other Florida men/snowbird geezers around here (not you HoosierGirl)) with my absolute turd of a wife, who many of you may know is an Illinois grad. A fine, fine day. Hope you guys enjoyed that as much as I did.

You were at a bar? I totally can't tell from this post.

Kopp has played well even when his shot hasn't been there. Today he got a key steal at the end just like he did against Northwestern. Even Bates played decent defense against Illinois but his shooting has been awful for several games. Galloway always does things that don't show up in the box score. But yes, the scoring needs to come from more than just TJD and JHS.

Nope.  I live worlds apart from them people.

Your assertion is like saying Gary is just like Bedford.  I claim nothing but my own.  But **** Illinois!

And adding to the late to the party due to Shrine ****.... Watching the post game interviews, CMW said it was "heated a bit in the locker room at half time a little bit....." That speaks volumes to me as to how this team is built. Could be huge moving forward! Or, I'm just a drunk Shriner from Terre Haute.....

Win is a win. Glad the guys pulled through. It's been said many times but this team has lost this game the last 5-6 years. Trayce continues to be awesome. If he can outplay Edey in West Lafayette and IU gets a win he's your NPOY. Jalen makes two really bad plays at the end of that game but makes up for it. Kid is awesome and I hate that we only get him for a year in Bloomington. One thing I like about this team is it feels like someone else steps up. Sometimes it's Trey or Malik. Today it was Miller. Thought he responded well after a bad game. Hit some HUGE 3's in the 2nd half and had a nice little pass to Trayce at the end. Plays some decent defense. Race played his best game since his injury. He was decent at Northwestern too. Feel like he's getting healthy at the right time. He was playing 30 minutes before the injury but I think he's going to be around 20-25 minutes from now on.

Devils advocate is that this game should not have been very close. IU let Mayer get going. Said pregame he was the only guy who could beat IU without Shannon. Was really surprised IU was 13 on the S-Curve. Can't imagine they got any lower after winning yesterday. I thought they would be  16/17. I unfortunately think we lose the next two, win our last two home games, and get at least one win in the B1GT. Probably gets IU a 4 seed. I'd like to see them steal a game next week. However, Michigan State is going to be very very hard to win at. Purdue too.

This season has been a wacky conference ride of ups and downs, reflects how hard it can be to predict how the season will go at the start. If you told me we’d get swept by NW but sweep Illinois after destroying them at Illinois, and would be in 3d with 4 to go but behind NW, while OSU is down at the bottom with 3 wins….

Looking at Wisconsin down the standings, sub .500 at 7-9: priceless

Fully respect him as a coach. He’s willing to do what it takes to win on every level. Therefore he mostly wins. He’s Izzo-like in his treatment of players. Not my favorite look at all. And the incessant whining is almost Fran-level. But I generally trust his teams will be there in March. That’s probably the best measure of a coach’s perception.

I think he is a good coach but before I can trust him in March he has to make it to the second weekend one  of these years.    Has never been past the second round and the last 2 lost as the better seed.   Losing to Loyola as the 1 seed and last year as the 4 seed should of lost to Chattanooga in the first round but ended up getting stomped by the 5 seed Houston
