I agree with all of that. Rumor was they took a family vote last time and it was 3-1 with Brad the only one voting to come back to Indiana. His daughter should be close to high school age so maybe the time is right. With the Pacers overtaking the Eastern conference maybe he knows it's time to get away from Boston :-)

Nothing like wearing the pants in the family.  But reality is, if it ever is an option, it will need to be after the kids high school.  No way would they want to start as a new freshman.  Middle school to high school friends are important to kids.

I'm sure they'd have all the friends in the world at BSouth with their Daddy being the IU basketball coach.  Probably Homecoming King and Queen.

Bruce Pearl is 63 going on 43. He's about as personable as it gets and is always engaged with the fans and the media. I dated a gal in college whose brother played for Pearl and USI and got to see them a lot. Hasn't changed one bit.

Most definitely. Unfortunately Woody is 65 and seems 10 years older. Pearl seems and acts light years younger than Woody. Even at 63, 8-10 years of Pearl could be the most fun 8-10 years we’ve seen in a very long time.

Well his son is a senior who has signed to play at Notre Dame for Schrewsberry next year. For now :-)

He's that old?  Didn't know that.  But anyway Brad we know that you hated recruiting.  Good news is that IU now recruits itself so you no longer have to worry about that.  Come on down and fulfill your destiny!

If IU is so easy to recruit to, why don’t we have better players and better X’s and O’s Assistants?  I don’t see a knock down shooting guard in our lineup and a solid point guard.

At this point our recruiting is in the crapper.  We should have a stable of solid HS lined up for next year and the year after.  We got one.  If you’re going to rely on mercenary transfers you’re going to have some wild rides.

My god.  We might have fired Archie only to pay a $10M buyout and then hire someone worse than Archie.

Really no excuse for this with the transfer portal and NIL. You now have the ability to transform your roster in one year. TJD largely carried Woodson the past two seasons and without him this year we’re seriously struggling. We went hard after a lot of top 2024 recruits and we have one player to show for it. Woodson and his staff isn’t getting it done either on or off the court.

I agree.  I have moved my family a few times but would allow my kids to stay put if in HS.  That limited some opportunities, but it was better than moving a kid that age who is in a good spot (academically, socially, activity/sport wise).

Marquette probably spends more money of their basketball program then IU does.   Shaka isn’t going anywhere. He is from Wisconsin.

I would find the financial thing hard to believe having been to games at both campuses (Marquette doesn’t have a campus arena). But you’re right about shaka. He’s “home.” They love him here. He’s doing well. I don’t see him leaving any time soon.

And that was with Archie having less staff members and less “recruiters” if you will. Without Woodson having TJD, it would likely be very ugly up to this point.

If tjd wasn't here the first couple seasons I think things would be very ugly by now.

Uh, the idea that Woodson is “worse” than Archie is monumentally ridiculous.
