What's worse?  "How are you" or " fine, how are you"?

Both are completely robotic BS statements.  Nobody truly cares how you are.  They're just awkward and can't speak on an intelligent level.  Then if you say "fine, how are you", you've become a dumbas robot too.  Cut the crap.

"Are you sure?"  is such a condescending question to ask.  It's like saying "Hey dummy, you didn't answer the way I wanted you to, so think harder and answer again".  Dude, if you ask me a question and I answer it, don't ask me the same question again.  I don't answer "are you sure".  You're too dumb to process my answer and you're calling me the dumb one.  STOP IT

Oh yeah Josh? I’ve got a few of those.
Crispy. Oh that’s so cute - our “crispy” potato chips, crispy fries, crispy chicken. It’s “crisp” damn it! Why the F does everything have to be so cute? Gotta throw that Y on the end for the “crispy” chips. Killing me softly.

Wait, you want condescending and pointless all rolled up together?
How about “if you will.”
He’s dishonest, a liar, if you will.

I won’t. Just shut it!

Ooooooh, I hate "if you will"!  People can't speak with brevity so they fill sentences with nonsensical filler to try to sound intelligent.  If I will??  What if I won't?  Just shut it

Woody is what he is. He could win. He’s got a couple years left maybe. I said in the other thread I like most things about him besides his subbing pattern and lack of guard depth this season and last. We are semi respectable in his tenure but also not impressing anyone. I don’t know. Lightning could strike and we get the right guys and magic happens. But it’s not going that way so far. He’s got 3 years or so left after this one. It’ll be a turnstile to the NBA for a few guys, I don’t see how he builds a roster get us where we want to be. There is no mojo right now on this season and it’s kinda sad.

Silver lining. Maybe this year if we miss the dance or barely sneak in, it’s a major freaking wake-up call to build a monster.

They wanted Ledlum really bad. Dude sucks. Talent evaluation needs to really improve internally and externally. (Reeves, Spencer, Love, Knecht, Abmas and a few others might have given us a chance this season) I look down the bench and don’t see options to be a power this season. Just isn’t going to happen. Not even 2 months into a season I anticipated for 7 months. And that’s a me problem I guess.

Rant over for now.

also, Indiana needs to kiss and makeup with the basketball Illuminati because we’ve been jobbed 2 games in a row. Auburn game got out of hand and reffing isn’t fully to blame obviously but if you’ve watched basketball long enough you can tell when the quick touch foul momentum killers start setting in. Or go on a mini run and refs will kill it with a few gimmes.

The Kansas game was one of worst home officiated games I’ve seen in my lifetime. Kansas made clutch plays down the stretch to win it but the refs helped keep the lead down and let them claw back.

So much of a tight game is predicated on the whistle at the right times and 2 games in a row we’ve be Jobbed.

The Archie Miller debacle should’ve been the big wake up call.. Instead they went out and hired Mike Woodson. IU lacks the institutional desire to be an elite basketball program. Moral preening is too important.

College basketball isn’t rocket science. The solution is quite simple. The SEC went from a joke of a bball conference to a powerhouse. We all know how that happened.

Iu could turn things around overnight, but IU refuses to play ball. Because of that refusal, we’ll never get back to where we were with Bob Knight. Ain’t happening. We’ll have good seasons here and there like we have over the past 20+ years, but nothing consistent. It is what it is.

IU basketball is like the main character in a long-running TV series that has a cap on its development. No matter what happens, it can never be allowed to become too powerful, too good or too skilled in any way. It must always struggle with basic strategies and concepts, even if years of prior experience would suggest it should know better by now. The ultimate goal is to be elite again, but the writers want to keep the series going, hence, we fail in recruiting, we have letdowns after big wins, and the program's perception remains unchanged.

Worst use of the English language is to say "And now a man who needs no introduction" and then they go on to introduce him.

1.   If he didn't need an introduction, then you don't need to say 'a man who needs no introduction'.

2.  If you say he didn't need an introduction and then proceed to introduce him, I either think you are a liar or an idiot.

The amazing thing is some booster paid big bucks to get rid of archie only for us to hire woodson. Probably could of just waited another year and made the same hire and saved himself a bunch of money. Also miller is a bad coach he cannot even win at Rhode Island. One fluke elite eight run was not a reason to hire a Mid Major guy.

Not sure why I am a gluten for punishment but here it goes

For all the guys who feel Woody sucks and needs to be replaced already (there seem to be about 10 of you who all feel exactly the same and repeat the same arguments over and over). Let’s see if there is any alignment here.  Who you going to get as coach?

- DD and his fans (seem to be a few on here and part of the same Woody sucks crowd) which is crazy to me since the guy failed as a coach all over but people still listen to his opinion and call him “coach” - he said for years. IU needs an IU guy - have one, you don’t like him. So not that IU guy. We also have  Calbert/Hullls on staff. So was that all about wanting Alford? Or Fife? the guy who can’t get a job and upset recruits.

- let me guess, now that is Dusty May? Couldn’t have been him before but ok, fine. So you want another mid-major guy who had one lucky run. But isn’t that the same argument for why you all feel Archie was dumb idea all along? Archie had more than one good year too with some unique talent at a mid major. Dusty needs time you say… well that doesn’t work because you want Woody out now.

- so, now that you realize those arguments don’t stand and won’t work, who you getting?

Oats, Mussleman - yeah, not happening with that Football money they have and why come to Big Ten? Next

Barnes, Pearl - same issue but they are also about done.

Scott Drew - you will really upset uncle DD with that one.

Shrews - yeah, he is killing it at ND. First year you say, I thought it is instant turnaround with portal now. No excuses right?

Rick - yeah, he is old but he is killing it at St John’s haha, not.  Another that should already have this turn around done.

Tang - yeah, probably too much Woody vibes for you and looks mediocre without key talent.

Shaka - Failed once at a big program and probably had zero desire anyway.

You can go down this list. This is kind of like the “go get a guard, no excuses, we are IU” - cool, who? Easier to just complain without any solutions. I bet some of the names thrown out last year are some of the same guys who are already proving to have been one hit wonders, already failing at a new gig (but you would have traded Woody in a heartbeat) or they just beat their wife.

if it is on here or Twitter, there is a consistent theme with the “Woody sucks” crowd - They feel they hold the program to a “higher standard” and we shouldn’t accept mediocre. Ok, who you getting?

let’s keep the suggestions to the Woody needs to go crowd. The ones who say good programs don’t wait and that has been our failure. What is the consensus?  Curious if there is one and how they stack up. Not what we should have done. Not how Miles Brand this or that. Right now. You are also going to be going head to head with Michigan and Louisville most likely this Spring.

I cannot think of a single coach who moves the mark, meets all the requirements and 100% guaranteed better than Woody.  Have this feeling the winner in a poll is Dusty which is hilarious to me for multiple reasons.

This is going to be my new go to. “Agreed, let’s fire him, who we getting?”

There are people who want DD? Guess it'd be an interesting way to further bury the program

Unfortunately I feel your right.  Our only real hope is that we get Dusty May and he turns out to be a great coach.  Certainly possible.  But IU will never go out and hire a sure fire winner like Pearl or Drew.  We're way too holy for that.

If we are just ranting about anything...

Who decided the pickled cucumber was THE PICKLE. No other pickled object is just a "pickle." But when we say I want a pickle, it's a pickled cucumber. What if we wanted a pickled egg? Or a zucchini? Pepper? Why is it the cucumber? Who had the authority to decide that?!
