I am starting to think Woody should have just blown it up and started from scratch. 10 minutes ago, Uspshoosier said: Woody had a chance to let players that have been in the program and losing culture move on and leave. He decided to convince these guys to come back for another year. Sometimes no matter how much players have meant to a program it’s just time for them to move on. Change is scary for coaches and fans but starting fresh without players from a previous culture might have been the move in this case especially with the portal. The safe and comfortable thing to do is exactly what woody did. Sometimes clean slate is the better move. Easy for me to second guess after the fact though You can also start extremely strict until you feel comfortable with the leadership and baseline of your team. Once that happens you can back off a bit and/or let players take ownership of the program. What doesn't help your case is getting results below your talent level. It's an easy way to implode your team and lose recruits. Looking component and winning would go a long way for Woody and this program. Quote

I really don’t know what “Mike Woodson basketball” is supposed to look like. Come on now, he needs 5 years before we can begin to judge him. He was sub .500 as a HC in the NBA but that's only bad if you care about wins. NVFalcons1990 1 Quote

We didn't switch when we needed to switch, and it's mental errors. When you don't listen to your coaches, that's going to really hurt you because obviously they were getting whatever shot they wanted. thebigweave and Golfman25 2 Quote

If that is the case, why didn't Duncomb, Banks, and Leal get some playing time? If the players that are the floor aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing, why not bench them? Not sitting them sends a bad message, imo. thebigweave, Golfman25 and BannerVille 3 Quote

go iu bb Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Turnovers have been a problem this season, steals in particular. IU's opponents have an average of 7.3 steals per game this season. 10.2 steals per game in the 5 loses. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that isn't good. 14 of IU's 16 turnovers today were steals. Quote

HoosierAloha Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Haha Illinois sucks. They were projected conference favorites with an easy schedule and are currently only a game ahead of last place Minny. Quote
