Yeah I'm not seeing PU as being #1 without Edey, that strikes me as a lazy assessment at best.

I think a lot of us are there too!  Edey was the POY 2 years in row for a reason.  Even though Brandon Smith got a lot of accolades, I think he’ll comeback to earth this year as he won’t have his 7’4” outlet to throw it into and most of his assists went to him as well.  Also their guards will be more easily guarded because Edey open things up so much because he was unguardable one on one by 95% of the centers in college and that is why he commanded a double team about every game, which open things up from outside.  I actually think Edey will have a good chance to get rookie of the year in the NBA, he’s a huge loss for Turdue!!!  Also, I am glad he’s gone, lol!

I can see top 3 because Painter will do Painter things. They will no doubt be a pest.

We'll see. He's a good coach so that is certainly possible but he isn't infallible. The year after they went to the E8 they were 10th in the B1G and would've missed the tournament if there had been one. Since then they've been on a nice run so they have a culture of winning so they might be good enough for top 3. They also might not. I don't expect bottom 1/2 but I also don't expect them to really be close to winning the regular season.

Good or bad, they'll probably make the IU games tough.

A high academic achiever to serve as practice fodder and 5 fouls in the worst of emergencies. No problem with it.

I agree!  If nothing else, if he gets into a game, he can definitely alter a few shots too.  That seems what he did the best on the highlights I seen of him.

100%

Regardless-- if you truly can't get anyone else, why wouldn't you take this kid for a year?

I'm failing to see the drawbacks.

Here's a projected highlight video of Dallas James in an IU uniform:

Yes, similar.  Jobe was a little bigger weight wise but similar.

This roster needed height.  That was clear to see. This most likely is a “Walk-on 7 footer” situation.  Sounds like a quality kid.  Gives practice height to compete with.

My biggest hope this season is Ballo stays healthy.  This roster needs him to play huge minutes.

A few years of the BTT being in Indy and Chicago then its off to Vegas cuz reasons.

Well the reasons are USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington. I'd have no problems with a rotation of something like Indy, Chicago, New York/DC/Vegas. Maybe not Seattle, Portland, or LA but if they rotate back to the Midwest every 2 of 3 years given the current conference geography, I'm good.

If they have to go somewhere other than Chicago/Indy (and they don't) it should be once every four years like this is set up. Vegas will do better than the pitiful attempt to hit the east coast because it's Vegas, but the tournament's identity is in the midwest.
