Ordinarily, not at all. And, no of course that isn’t gonna be why the kid comes here if he does. But, when you read his interviews or listen to him talk about his process, McNeeley talks a lot more, I mean a lot more, about 2 things than most kids: 1) the importance of a school that really loves basketball, and 2) feeling genuinely wanted. He’s brought up in interviews more than once that he loves how big a deal this is here. So, I think there’s a smidgen of value in this stuff for McNeeley in contrast to a kid like Noah Clowney who seemed a little spooked by it.

I think we have a great relationship with McNeeley due mostly through JHS and that relationship. I think relationship is #1. But for sure, winning is very important to McNeeley. I know he wants to be part of a final four caliber team. That’s the main part that concerns me. I mean, we all want to be there but we don’t get much National respect, so we are just going to have to prove it and put a hell of a roster together.

On that note, Oklahoma would be an extra long shot. Kansas Is a threat. Alabama could be one, but I don’t think that’s the culture he will want. Michigan, nah…. Texas? Maybe. I think Indiana has to like it’s odds especially if Queen gets on board.

Well, the history on that one is kind of good. But it’s fighting the countervailing breeze that is the fact that the only #1 guy on my personal wish list in the last 10 yrs to end up in Bloomington was Romeo.
