To me, this next game against Rutgers is similar to Archie's second year when we essentially had a play-in game with OSU in the BTT, and the winner would go on to get an at-large berth in the NCAAT.

We laid an egg and ended up in the NIT.

I'm hoping our players come out swinging and ready to enter a trip to the tournament.

I snuck out of work to run over to the United center to watch that game knowing how important it was to us.
I unfortunately found out it wasn’t as important to the team as it was for me

That was ridiculous! I’m glad we won but not really a good win. When you are up that many points with less than 8 minutes to go, you don’t let them back into the game. We only won by 5. Freaking horrible!

I thought Woodson should have called a TO when Minnesota cut it to 15.  The Syracuse game wasn’t that long ago.

I get that Ben Johnson is in a tough situation....but I really don't understand what he's doing with his roster.  Three of the guys he brought in were fifth year seniors.  Those three took 70% of Minnesota's shots tonight.  He consistently plays seven guys with one guy just getting a few minutes.  They are 4-14 in the conference.  Incredible comeback for them but even if they come all the way back....in terms of the Minnesota program, so what?  They are back to square one next year again.

He refuses to give his other scholarship players any chance.  He has a freshman by the name of Treyton Thompson -- 6'11" kid, skinny, a project.  Johnson was forced to play him when they had covid issues......he played all 40 minutes against Rutgers earlier in the year and had 10 points (4/7 from the field) and had 6 rebounds in a 68-65 loss.  He's played him sporadically since, usually getting less than 10 minutes.  Didn't play him a minute tonight.  And the kid has been decent when he has played -- but only gotten in 17 games and averaged under 9 minutes.  I could see Johnson ending up being another Hoiberg, constantly changing personnel every year and never having a team gel.

I hope this team has a better result.  I do know this, we better play with focus, effort and determination because Rutgers will.  The crowd should help!

But in the Syracuse game we were the ones that came back and tied it after they were up 16 at half....

SIAP but just heard Woody say in the presser that Gallo's injury is hamstring/groin area. Didn't sound confident of when he would return.

Also didn't have any ETA on Lander

My bad, the Wisconsin game!  I was so fired up and mad after tonight’s game, I got mixed up which roller coaster game it was.  Even though we won tonight, I was so ticked off after that game.  It didn’t seem we learned anything from the Wisconsin loss.  This team can’t afford to let up and lose their focus in any game no matter how big a lead they have

The thing is this game goes into the W column and doesn't count off points for almost blowing a big lead

Didn't realize the weird college career Payton Willis has had.

Played two years at Vandy.
Transferred to Minny for two years. Redshirted a year. Played a year.
Transferred to College of Charleston. Played a year.
Transferred back to Minny for this, his final season. It's his sixth year of college.

Wonder if Armaan Franklin or Clifton Moore will come back to IU next year? LOL!
