ITH’s take is that we have a tough road to win the B1G — noting 4 of 7 final road games ag a tough group. They kind of have a point. Definitely like the multiple home games on weekends though, better, packed AH crowds will help

Not that I'm terribly upset by this, but I noticed we have 2 exhibition games. I'd bet anything Xavier Johnson is getting a 3 game suspension to start the season and the 2 exhibitions (that count for half a game each) are to make sure he's eligible when we face his namesake on the road.

That is what Matt Painter always used to do on his player 'suspensions'.

No way. You need to ride the wave of this I-told-you-so forever. Just bask in the glory of IU’s underperformance. I hope you never get to stop reveling in our failure. Take pride knowing that only you and those of similar intellect could comprehend the gravity of a loss to IPFW.

This might blow your mind, but being a fan of a team has nothing to do with impartiality. And don’t go bringing “integrity” into it as if that has real meaning here. None of this matters, it’s entertainment. Allow fellow Hoosier fans to cheer for the team if they want to, it makes them happy.

Fair enough.  Maybe I'm holding a grudge because the people who gave me so much hell for calling Archie awful so early still have not accepted it.  They still refuse to admit that maybe they were wrong in name calling and still say I'm the one who has fault.  Maybe I should be a bigger man than those who still call me out even though they were the wrong ones.  Even though they can't be bigger.  Maybe so.

My post was in no way incorrect.  I question the impartiality and integrity of all those posters.

Moving on...

Pretty sure Crean also did this the year half the team got suspended for failed drug tests and we had to start Colin Hartman at center.

How are schedules assigned?  In the NFL, the results of the previous year reflect each team's schedule difficulty the next year.  Big Ten scheduling seems willy nilly.

I have never looked into that and would like to know too. Our closing stretch is pretty brutal.
If we do make the jump to winning the B1G we will have earned it

The matchups are on a rotational basis. When the matchups (not dates) came out in the spring, I looked up and found it was the exact double and single plays from 2018. Don't know whether the dates are assigned by the previous year's record or not. Being projected to be near the top has given us more Saturday home games in one year than we've had the last three.

Also… strength of schedule is a funny thing. You never know which teams will be the easiest double-plays.

*Except Nebraska under Hoiberg; with them we know.

Same with the NFL teams, but at least they try to spread the schedules fairly.  Big Ten seems to have come up with an arbitrary schedule, then just rotates it every year

Without going through the last couple years to cross-reference, 6 games on network TV seems like a big jump up in coverage, understandably. Hopefully a couple of those FOX games get put in 4K.

9:15 tip time...is ESPN finally figuring out game windows????

Don’t think so. It’s the first night of the B10/ACC Challenge so you know the Valvano speech will take up the first 15 minutes of coverage at least and then the OSU/Duke game before us is scheduled to tip at 7:15. I say our tip is 9:30 earliest.
