Last minute season predictions

Recommended Posts

Figured it would be fun to get some last minute record predictions on record so we can make fun of ourselves in the end (hopefully because we undersold this team).

Season Record: 21-10

Big Ten Record: 12-8 (good for top 5)

NCAA Seed: 7

NCAA Finish: Round of 32

LET'S GO HOOSIERS

12-1 thru Crossroads Classic (includes 2 B1G games)

12-6 for rest of B1G schedule

Not sure about B1G tourney, I think we at least make it to the semi's

I think we make the Sweet 16, but not sure after there.

So, when I first read your top prediction, I scoffed at its optimism, and I must apologize for that.

When I looked at the schedule, I got a research-less 19-12, which isn’t too far off. Both should be comfortably in the tournament. I didn’t keep track of big ten record while counting.

Yeah the non-conference schedule is light. and the Big Ten schedule is pretty favorable on paper. We have not had that luxury the past few years, so I think 20+ wins is pretty reasonable.

Definitely. I think I threw in a random upset loss (or two) that we shouldn’t lose to, hence the difference.

Go Hoosiers!

Too many unknowns to make an educated prediction.  So, my WAG on IU's basketball season is as follows:

1.   IU finds a really decent point guard, some shooters, and Coach Woodsen does well: 20 wins, 2 in the BTT, 2 in the NCAAT;

2.   IU surprises with a great point guard, Kopp and Race step it up; Galloway hits some 3's, TJD has a better year with others carrying the load and helping, Tamar Bates breaks out...27 wins including tourneys...elite 8.

I think that #1 happens but cheering for #2.

PS  It has been way too long since IU has had really good guards in both the 1 and 2 spot...Kind of a parallel to the football team not keeping 2 really excellent QBs for a whole season.  Woulda, coulda, shoulda...if only...and speaking of soccer: need scorers and passers...oh well.

How many games do we play? Looks like 31?

Regular season record: 21-10

Conference record: 12-8

NCAA Seed: 8

NCAA Finish: Round of 32

Hard to know what exactly to expect. I think we’re a tournament team and a top half of the conference team. Beyond that, who knows.

Lukewarm Take: We’re a top 25 defense by the end of conference play. We will stifle opponents early on, but our offense will largely rely on the talent of our players until it starts clicking mid season

Hot Take: Race would be a star if he weren’t outshined by TJD

Hotter Take: Parker Stewart figures it out after a few games and will take over a few games. The loudest SSAH gets this year will be on a Stewart 3 against a ranked opponent while Indiana is on a scoring run.

22-9

12-8, cause two against Wisky, two against Minny, and two against PSU is a heck of a head start.

That's a 6 seed.

The only out of conference loss is to Syracuse.

This feels optimistic, but what the hell.

I'm piggy-backin' off Stu on this
