Bruh... Penix is 78-149 on the season. 52%. With 4 TDs and 6 ints... We really gonna try and say Penix is even in the same realm as Chappell?

........ SO like last year didn't happen. Cool. Ffs. You proved his point

I had thought about going to this game as it’s only 3 hours away from me, but I wanted to wait and see how we looked early in the season before committing.. Decided not to spend several hundred bucks on what seemed to be a potential blowout.

Anyway, this is basically the worst way for the game to start for us. Our offense isn’t good enough to climb out of an early hole, so we needed the defense to stay strong. They helped with the INT but unfortunately the offense couldn’t capitalize.

I honestly didn’t watch IU football back then but his stats look like they were good. 3300 yards and 24 tds to 9 INTs as a senior.

Back then our offense could score. On the other hand, our defense couldn’t stop a thing. Our secondary roster management was like high school athletics. Bring over talented athletes from other sports because we couldn’t recruit anyone. Our games were inevitably shootouts as a result with the other team usually winning by either a blowout or in the last minute because we couldn’t stop anyone.

Penix wasn't that good last year either sooo...

Wait. Are you comparing a pandemic shortened season to a guy who played for a team that was getting blown out on a weekly basis. Oh and our entire offense was Penix last year. You are something else.

Penix stinks but the OC doesn’t do him any favors. Our playcalling is so basic and predictable. First down rush up the gut, pick up 2-3 yards, 2nd and 7-8, repeat. Minimal rolling Penix out of the pocket even though he’s better when he’s on the move.

You have no idea why Lewis lost his job, do you?

He stunk without James Hardy, that’s why. When he no longer had Hardy to run 40 yards downfield double-covered so he could scramble, he was SOL. Plus his off the field problems sealed the deal….

He was inconsistent but was on more than  off. This year he has no on button.

He definitely was doing better in the TD/Int area. Consistency was a problem. This year though... Too often it seems he's just chucking it into random areas half the time. Throws a lot at the ground.
