Candidate Thread: Eric Musselman (Arkansas)

Mussleman is a cars salesman. He’s CTC 2.0. His social media antics would drive fans up the wall. 
 

He appears to have Arkansas turning around. He just got there last year. He coached in the NBA when kids were in elementary school. I don’t trust his coaching abilities. Guys just play hard for him and that only takes you so far in March.

Maybe.  He’s kinda funny to me.  If he’s winning it’s great, if he’s losing it would be irritating.

He seems to win a lot.

75% winning percentage in college basketball and won his conference three straight years at Nevada. How well Arkansas does in the tournament will tell us a lot more about him.

It would be entertaining at the very least. I like the guy’s personality and his playing style seems fun, but don’t know a ton about him.

He was on my short-list, but in some other thread it was mentioned he's expressed a desire to return to the NBA. If so, that is a huge red-flag to me. I'd want whoever to see IU as the destination, not a stop on the journey.

If the university wanted to promote the brand and move it into the future he is the guy.    Very active on social media promoting whatever program he is in charge of.   Lots of people would not like him at all.  When they beat Kentucky if I remember there was a clip of him coming into the locker room shirtless throwing water everywhere just having fun.  Total opposite of the last 4 years.   Loves transfers.   I read a quote where he looks for older players that can average 10 pts (Justin Smith)a game.   Get enough of those and you can compete.   He can recruit in state as well.   Landed Moses Moody top 50 player last year who is probably their best player.  If IU wants him I’m guessing they would be the buyout and give him a raise.

I was looking at their roster the other day.  Besides Moody, they have 3 other frosh that play meaningful minutes(Arkansas natives).  2 of them are top 100 kids.  

I imagine Moody will move on, but dang Eric looks to have the Hogs set for a few years.

Or if he moves on to another school with the no sit out transfer rule for next year that school could be set up nicely
