Nope!  Much like Jesus, some here apparently have never sinned and walk on water.  Of course, they conveniently forgot the forgiveness part.

I appreciate the comment, but that is not really where I want this to go. I understand your position. I am trying to understand what it would take for the other side to accept him.

Confidence level he accepts that?

How is think it would go if he didn’t like that amount

Dolson - “Brad how does 10/92 sound”
Brad - “Meh, I’d like a little more probably”
Dolson - writes date, Bradley Stevens and sign the check “okay Brad, just put what it would take on there”

If we reportedly offered Brad 7 yr $70 million last go around, I take it that it's the length of contract that matters since we've decreased the per year amount to $9.2 million but offered 10 yr this time?

Close enough. Yesterday I heard around $100 would be the offer. So this makes sense.

Know it’s a different sport but to put this in perspective, OSU just signed Jason Day to a $12.3 million dollar a year contract

Programs interested in winning championships find ways to pony up the money

Sorry, I it was more of a joke (bad I see) to point out we have passed on coaches with issues in the past because they weren’t perfect in the eyes of admin and fan base.

The only way I see it happening would be if he told Michigan that if the IU job comes open and they call me, I’m going to take it. I doubt very seriously that happened. Michigan is a good job, I think when we kept Woody, May interpreted that as we were not that interested in him because last year he was ready to move!

I dunno, Dusty really could not afford to wait. Coaching jobs are fickle, and coming off that two year run at FAU his earning potential/interest would probably not ever be higher without taking a step up in competittion. If it was not going to be us, it was going to be someone else. One thing I wonder about that I really only have heard on Eye on CBB (which is an underrated/accurate podcast) is Norlander saying that he apparently was not interested in the fishbowl aspect of UL. He has mentioned it a couple times. They never mention any "low buyout" demands as sinking that deal. That it was Dusty choosing not to go to that job. Not saying that axes us or anything or that IU obviously is not different, but it is interesting.

I appreciate the comment but I was really just looking for the opinions of the people that are against hiring him. I am aware of the opinions of the people who are for hiring him.

Sorry my reading comprehension is out the window tonight. solid question though, would like non-visceral answers!

If Stevens is officially the guy, obviously a big if when do you think they would announce him?

Probably around the start of the NCAA tournament so all the teams can be like oh f***. Then all the big teams will crap their pants and lose to mid majors

But didn’t dusty say he won’t sign anything during the season?

I could be wrong, but I think Chris said May won’t talk to after the season is over.

In order of preference for me?

Stevens

May

McCasland

Beard

Gates

Buzz

That’s my list of six that I’d be more than happy with. I love Pearl, McDermott, and Few; but they are too old for my taste. Drew is creepy to me; something about him rubs me wrong.

I’d personally put Drew behind Stevens. He does awesome at Baylor and I think he’d do even more at IU.

My bad. I am legitimately trying to understand what it would take for people to accept him at IU.

The Old Testament part of me says “screw that guy, you don’t ever lay hands on a woman.” The New Testament part of me thinks that he can’t be beyond redemption. I just want to understand what that redemption looks like.

If Beard came out and said he fu€ked up and was truly apologetic, and went to high schools to talk about how he fu€ked up and tried to turn this whole thing into a cautionary tale, would that be enough?
