Let's have some fun today while we wait for Dolson to cross the T's on Brad's contract.

I think we need to start a new bingo card that has the following phrases.

"I'll eat crow"  - I never encounter this phrase in any other aspect of my life but on this message board. 

"High Ceiling"

"Low Ceiling" 

"Floor"

"Domestic violence"

The guy had his faults but I can guarantee he probably did more for his fellow man that you will ever attempt....and thats not even knowing you from Adam....ridiculous statement.

I believe Beard is a terrific coach and would be successful at IU. I believe in second chances. I also believe any consideration of Beard must be made with GREAT scrutiny. 

I am happy that so many on this board have not lived through a domestic violence situation. For those of us who have been involved with DV investigations from a law enforcement standpoint, the public information related to Beard’s arrest demands a thorough investigation by the university. There exist questions related to liability if a new incident were to arise along with legitimate concerns as to the university’s reputation. 
 

I would caution those that dismiss these allegations out of hand. It’s sometimes easier if you ask what your mother or sister would’ve done if the allegations were true, just to look at it from a different point of view.
 

Recanting victims are unfortunately commonplace in these situations.  I know our culture is moving away from and discarding expertise which is a separate rant on its own. But there are professionals that IU can draw on to further consider the facts surrounding the incident, and whether they believe, even if true, Beard has taken steps to rehabilitate himself. 
 

I’m all for giving him a look. IU just needs to tread with extreme caution, and we all would do better, myself included, to take domestic violence allegations seriously.

The Knight comment…..We need a reboot of this program.  Just ditch the past and move on.  It’s holding us back.  That’s my point.  No one should give two craps whether a coach is associated with Knight.  It shouldn’t even be a criteria.  

I would like to know the pieces of **** you're referring to on this board who apparently think that what he did was ok. I mean if you're going to throw that line out there, specifically on this board, I'm left to believe that you're calling folks on the board POS and you need to take a xannex or a hit off the doobie.
