Not seeing why Brownell is getting so many mentions. 

He's been to four NCAAs in 14 seasons at Clemson. 

If he weren't from Evansville, I can almost guarantee you he wouldn't be on anyone's list.

He'd probably be better than Woody, but much like we hired Woody only because he's an IU legend, Brownell is only a "candidate" because he's from Indiana.

Lmao this guy was definitely not an alpha….he was a cheater, plain and simple….one thing never said about Wooden “alpha male”. He was a cheating enabler and rarely disciplined anyone….i refrained from using POS but it fits

 No worries I dropped a video of him with his Virginia tech days earlier.  Won’t be the first choice however all the guy does is wins and make the tourney at place like Virginia Tech and now at A&M.   Won’t win the press conference but he would have IU competing in the top half of the conference and making the tourney consistently.  Something they haven’t done in a very long time.  Better options? Sure but that guy will grind

I really believe this hire needs to be a home run or IU risks more apathy from the fans…..Brownell does not inspire excitement in anyone….nor do anyone else on that sporting news list…if that is a valid list of coaches Dolson is focused on, I guess we keep this thread on standby for 2029 for the next search

Hoping for some transparency at the end of the search so we know who Dolson went after and who turned us down….if we end up with Mike Lewis, I want to know what number he was on Dolson list and I think that’s ok to ask since he is a public employee…who did you talk with and who did you not talk with and why? If we get some guy the casuals never heard of, we did something wrong somewhere along the way OR we fans need to be hit with the facts in the face…if it’s nobody big wants to come to IU, just tell us…

Would think that list is a really accurate summary. The more I’ve thought it, since I continue to disbelieve on Stevens,  I’ve got Otzelberger in his own tier. I think that guy would be a freaking legend here.

With IU's NIL war chest and the transfer portal, this is the first time where I don't think we need a home run hire. We don't need to win the press conference for recruiting and status. 

We need a coach that can build culture, identify the right players, is a tireless worker and knows his X's and O's. 

For the first time, we just need a basketball coach, someone that lives and breaths the game. 

If IU can find that in a "home run hire" then great, but winning the press conference isn't a requirement this time IMO. We just need a basketball coach that wins games.

Total agreement.  In fact, since Woody's been on the hot seat for quite some time and May's name is constantly mentioned, little surprising that there hasn't been any announcement that extension negotiations have even commenced solely to shut down the May speculation.

Would he come? I mean, isn’t he an Iowa State former player? He’s got the change to do it right for his school unlike Woody….why would he leave? We say nil and money but Iowa state can match us if they want to keep him bad enough….
