The term “short term bridge”, and then have to rehire someone doesn’t make sense to me anyway shape or form.
If I was in charge of such a big time hire, I would be thinking of longevity and the future and someone who is successful at the college level who really understands recruiting the right type of basketball players that you can win championships with who had a track record of doing that.

Sounds like the people in charge are in some type of fairytale dreamland and so I would suggest just turn over the hiring process to this board (no need to spend unnecessary tons of money to a hiring firm)  and most likely would be smooth sailing from here on out.

I don't understand this.  No coach currently playing would be announced until their season is over.

Two quick fixes for the NCAA IMO would be: no player makes over 100,000 quid and the portal doesn’t open until two days after the national championship game.

Just figure with the portal era being what it is, if the mutual interest were legitimate, McCollum would be on board with announcing on Monday after a Goodman "leak" and could talk to his team this weekend about it. IU written statement Monday and intro press conference after Drake's season ends. IU would want that to be known going into the portal, was the thinking... Hence if it didn't happen Monday, it wouldn't happen at all. 

The Goodman tweet was clearly instigated by McCollum, possibly to signal his preference for Iowa, so they can try and get something done instead.

Pretty good watch and at around the 40 minute mark he talks about the coaching search. To the posters who don't want McCollum you will like what Galen says about him. I don't know if he knows much but with him doing a lot of sports media at IU you would think he has some knowledge.

One positive is Iowa is almost certainly going to have to overpay him because of it lol. Solid agenting by his people.
