idc what he said lol

He had a profile picture of a NASCAR..... D1 Basketball players aren't NASCAR fans or even think to use that as a front.

He's trying to act like a hick white guy from Indiana.  Its their schtick.  They think the whole fanbase are racists.

Thank you for sharing. Didn’t realize the Massimino connection. Back in the day while he was at Nova, my father became acquainted with him. Will have to look more into Calhoun… I’m optimistic because there’s a strong crop of young, talented coaches this cycle. Still think if we go up and comer route Dolson hitches his wagon to McCollum. But I hope Calhoun and Huss get a close look too.

As far as I can tell McCollum hasn’t been active on Twitter since 2023. Tyme was pushing that McCollum is too combative with fans and media to coach here… lol. I think that’s farcical

Yeah... Knight was famous for that (more media and critics) ... and The King had his moments, as well.

My stance hasn't changed. I would be shocked if it's Brownell.

I don't think he'd be as bad a hire as people are trying to make him seem, i actually think he'd do well at IU with NIL and his ability to coach modern basketball/emphasize the 3 or shots at the rim. i just don't think he has ever been on Scott's short list of candidates and would have to be told 'no' several times (or choose not to pursue candidates after vetting) to get there.

remember, Rabby's/media's sources are agents and those in AAU/college coaching circles. Scott and about 3-5 other people actually know what's going on. Let's wait and see who the hire is

Agreed. Scott and 3-5 people who won’t leak info at this point.

I mean he won the Horizon regular season title once 7 years but lost in the conference tourney.

He will likely make it at Utah State but I feel like Utah State is the Dayton of the west everyone wins there. Previous HCs

Smith - just fired after going to Utah

Odom - left there to go to VCU

Sprinkle - Now in the toilet of the Big Ten at Washington.

But after yesterday / this morning honestly apathy as set in at this point any mid-major guy is a flip of a coin. We will either be set for 20 years or right back here begging for fake Stevens rumors in 3-4 so Welcome to Bloomington *insert mid-major coach here* !!!!

I don’t particularly want Schertz, but I will say this—I saw Saint Louis play very early in the season and they were a train wreck on both ends of the floor.  While still not a great team now, they have improved more during the season than maybe any team I’ve seen this year.

And that’s coaching. His life experience of being I think a number one ranked state tennis player at a very early age against his dad’s wishes to navigate a basketball career leading to his level of success requires talent and intelligence.  He has a hunger for competitiveness that I think would carry over into an opportunity.  His personality skills would be compatible to IU fan base.

Wade with our NIL he would make some strong @$$ offers for sure.  The kids honestly like him, he's got a bit of a "youth' factor going on.
I've seen some of his coaching videos and he calls out the BS and preaches good stuff.  I would take this over a mid-major all day.
The mid-major guy is gonna need a lot of help.
The mid major hire reminds me of Woodson. He has no experience so lets hire guys around him to help. I'd take wade.

Yes he's making fun of that Scott Tack account who is overtly racist and comments 99% negatively on any and everything IU related.

Will Wade and we won't have any issues for the next 20+ years.

Will say this: When his name 1st popped up I reached out to a friend who’s a D1 Asst Coach in my neck of the woods who’s actually vaguely acquainted with him, Missouri  basketball is a very small world, and while he thinks he’s really good he also thinks he’s intense to the point of being a little bit nuts(his word, not mine). So I’d always been a little cool on the idea. But I’ve seen no public evidence that he’s anything but just a conventionally driven guy. He’s certainly no Dan Hurley. That still feels like a big step up, but his coaching talent is unassailable.

Side note: for people who like to complain about Woody’s “arrogance”, McCollum literally told Grant McCasland, a really successful coach, that his offense sucked and was too easy to guard. That sounds kind of arrogant. People down with that?

Good info.  It was obvious to me but not whom was being mocked. Some accounts deserve some mocking.  No hate on that.
